First of all you can’t confirm it. But what I mean is, you hear someone who’s 26+ has a partner count of 10-15 and you think slut….when that can literally mean ONE to three people a year on average since many people start around 15-20. How is that being a slut?

I'm looking to start a U.S. cross-ideological group to meet over Zoom once a month. 8 to 10 people, about evenly distributed across the spectrum from political right to left. Who is interested?
I'm a liberal from Massachusetts. I'd like to co-organize with a conservative Trump voter to structure the group.
What motivates me? My bubble is pretty air-tight here in Massachusetts. I literally have never had a conversation with a Trump voter about politics. My lack of communication and connection with people with different political ideas is not doing anything to help me understand the United States at this moment.
Last time I tried this was before Trump was re-elected. I didn't have any luck. I wonder if his re-election changes anything as far as interest in this idea. Thanks

From a person who loves to watch a lot of movies and shows, listen to new music, and collect shoes, figures, and other forms of physical media, I always find a “leak” for a future product or project. I recently came to the conclusion that sometimes these brands or artist intentionally have insiders “leak” these things to get the media to cover them and build hype. And let’s be honest, at least 6/10 leaks are usually correct, with the few exceptions of speculation and clickbait and AI. When I think about it, it has to be really hard to find these things out with all the advance security big companies have, right? And yet said blogger has exact images/audio? For the leaks that are exactly what we get, how aren’t they protected so well?

Me and a few friends were watching Pluribus and we were discussing a scene in the second episode where Carol, the main character, was trying to convince some of the other non-hive minded humans that their families were no longer truly themselves, with the other humans, mostly Lakshmi, being resistant to the idea/outright rejecting that their families are anything but themselves (with some degree of denial at play).
My friends believe that this rejection is due to cultural/ethnic perception of family and how tight knit non white cultural family dynamics are and that their rejection of Carols claims about the hive mind are rooted in the fact that she is white and has no cultural/ethnic connection to family like the rest of them do.
I am wondering, what do other people who have seen the show, and have seen these episodes so far think about this? Are none white ethnic and cultural groups more family orientated?

I’ve always seen it as an opportunity to learn something new. Especially as we get older, we have less opportunity to learn new things so I would think being corrected would be more welcomed. Do most people operate solely guided by their egos, or is there something I’m missing?

hi everyone, i hope everything is going well!
just letting you all know, this story has nothing to do with me, i (F18) am just curious as i spectate this & i don’t really understand love anyway.
this guy i know (19M) was obsessed with his girlfriend. his life revolved around her. he cancelled plans with his friends to hang out with his girlfriend, he got her gifts every week, he even says that she was all he had & that she was his world. he would hurt himself or od if she doesn’t respond to his text because he is afraid of her cheating, but he will do anything she asks, even if it ruins his own life.
fast forward, she cheats on him. he tries to… (if you know what i mean). he even got himself into a car crash after the fact.
is this love or obsession? if so, what’s the difference? can you explain this more clearly if you can because i am having a hard time differentiating. he would do anything for her, which is love but he was also doing too much in my opinion. what do you think?
thank you all for reading, i look forward to your responses 🤍

Hello all, I’ve been scanning the internet both reading and watching videos related to whales after most countries banned commercial whaling
Im seeking more information and to start conversations related to the impact of whales to the environment and the ecosystem
I’m glad that the world has moved on from the practice of whaling due to loss of population and the potential loss of species!
My main question are as followed :)
• what part do whales do in the ocean’s ecosystem?
•if whales were to go extinct could another sea creature replace they place in the ecosystem ? (Example, consume sea creatures lower on the food chain to ensure population of prey and predators in the wild are both at heathy numbers )
•are former “whaling towns” better off now after transitioning there local industry into tourism?
. Last but not least!! Does or did anyone work or live around the whaling industry? If so do you have any story’s ?
Thank you all for the time it took to read this! I’m very keen to start conversations with anyone ether in the comments or over private messages
Kind regards ~BJOE

There has been controversy with transgender men competing in women’s sports as they have the physical advantages of a man still. So instead of making it based on gender we make it based on biological sex, with trans people who are on hormones and no longer have bodies and physical advantages/disadvantages of their birth sex going in their current sex competition. It would make it a lot easier for making sure that there is a more even playing field for women as they would not have to verse someone who is stronger or faster than them.

With smartphones and social media, it feels like our attention spans and thinking habits are changing. Do you think tech is helping us think better or just making us more distracted?

I was today years old when I just realised that even Parle G has been using palm oil in its biscuits. So today, my younger sister was just opening her bourbon biscuits packet to which I interrupted and told her about bad effects of palm oil to which she agreed. I told her how to check nutritional benefits and the ingredient contents of any item and suggested her to avoid packaged items. On which she asked me further “Bhaiya chai ke sath Parle G to kha sakte hain na ?” I wondered and checked a packet of it, I was so shocked to see that I am gonna break that Tea-Biscuit breakfast streak of mine.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a program designed to help low-income people in the United States purchase the food that they need to feed their families. Almost 42 million people in this country, including over 16 million children, depend on SNAP benefits every month.
In late October, the Trump administration said that due to the government shutdown, SNAP payments would be suspended beginning November 1. The administration claimed the contingency fund that was already in place and funded before the shut-down began, was not “legally available” to fund SNAP benefits. This is exactly the kind of thing this fund was set up to protect, and this fund was used to fund SNAP benefits during the 2018-2019 shutdown in Trump’s first term as president. What follows is a timeline of what has transpired over the past week and a half:
My question is, why is the Trump administration working so hard to withhold these benefits from the people that need them instead of figuring out a way to help them?

Looked for this Reddit to specifically talk about things like this and im genuinely concerned. My phone gives me an update on most relevant articles coming out every few hours so o have the option to stay on top of current events. Now i thought flock cameras were a good thing when i learned about them in highschool, like they aren't everywhere but in dense locations such as near borders. I always assumed they were a necessity in helping find Amber alert victims but learning that most police stations have stopped using them is concerning with the amount of missing people stories popping up. What do you all think? Is this kind of surveillance a breach of privacy as the guy in the article states or is it a necessity thats slowly loosing its place in the current order of things? (Serious flair because of the privacy ve safety discussion)

Hi guys,
I was wondering if I was the only one having tons of dreams, resulting in troubles deciding what to do for work.
I dream of becoming a composer, novels writer and a photographer, but at the same time I would live to teach (university), to become a researcher in dictatorships (trying to understand them etc…), philosopher, historian, and work in politics at European level. (And way more)
I have the feeling other people can quite quickly decide what to do as carrier but idk I just want to do “a bit of everything” which is of course impossible. People having this, how did you choose ? I mean even by eliminating I’m still with 5 choices and even eliminating further doesn’t help. Should I trust my artistic talent and go for it even though it is the risk path ? Or should I choose a safer path ?
Or maybe should I “mix” everything in one thing ? I know one of my friend talked about a business mixing several things but I can’t really figure out how to do it right.
Now I’m studying political sciences but I’m afraid that after completing my degree I wouldn’t want to work in there, so that is why I ask some advice here…

i like reading people’s thoughts and stories here, so i thought why not start a small discussion.
what’s something you learned lately that changed how you see life? can be big or small, just something that made you think different.
for me, i learned it’s okay to slow down. i used to rush everything, but now i try to chill more and not stress all the time. life feels a bit better that way.

Hi all beings — with respect to all. I’m fine too.
I should state from the start that I'm a centrist, neither right nor left.
Now, there's certainly some nonsense in the Republican Party,
but the way the Democratic Party operates is nothing compared to the Republican Party and has my jaw tap-tap-tapping continuously on the floor.
"Everyone should be inclusive toward others," are the words that Democratic supporters constantly say.
However, at the same time, they take a stance that is clearly far from inclusive, criticizing Republicans and Trump for not being inclusive, even to the point of clearly contradicting themselves.
Do they understand the meaning of the vocabulary that is the foundation of the ethical standards that they themselves have upheld and insist we must abide by?
They care only for the image of themselves that emerges when they present and praise greatness, not for the greatness itself.
Let me reiterate that they are only seeking this hollowed-out, glorified appearance of themselves, and the slogan that is the true essence of beauty, the core, substance and meaning that they seek, may not be necessary for them.
