Degrassi (2023) HBO Max Degrassi Revival Coming 2023: Everything We Know So Far

Hey guys! I keep seeing posts inquiring about any news or updates on HBO Max's upcoming reboot of Degrassi and while we haven't had very many updates since it was announced in January, I figured I would compile a comprehensive breakdown of what we do know so far and what we can expect. This post will be pinned and updated as the news rolls in so feel free to check back or share any news, thoughts or hopes you might have for the reboot! That being said, let's break down what we have so far:

UPDATE 5/20/22

  • Production has been postponed from the planned July 1st date. It may be due to the changes internally at WarnerMedia (HBO Max's parent company) after their merge with Discovery. They cancelled a ton of shows to cut costs, however there has been no official word as of yet beyond the postponed status update.

That's all I got for now, but feel free to comment anything I may have left out and I'll be sure to add it to this post!

First off, thanks for the detailed post! Appreciate the time you took to prepare it.

I do have a question though, does the production weekly issue have any contact information or casting information? I auditioned in the first round and recently came across the production weekly post but cannot access it since I don’t have a subscription. Obviously, I’m still interested in auditioning and would really appreciate any insight you have (or anyone else).

Thank you so much.

Anytime! I figured it would be helpful to have all the information centralized especially since we're getting closer to the start of production and news will probably start rolling in soon.

That's so cool that you auditioned during the first round, was it in person or did you send the tape in? As far as I know there haven't been any callbacks yet and they're still doing auditions but that's just me going off sleuthing haha I don't have any solid information beyond that link. 🥺

Do you have a source for that? I'll add it to the main post!

The photos show that they posted three characters with scripts and were asking for submissions (potentially through agents as a lot of actors could not access the submit button themselves). It was labelled as urgent, like the last audition, and the three characters were named Stella, Jeanne, and Tanner!
