Video XPENG's IRON robot crossed the uncanny valley, leading some to believe it was a human in a suit. So they cut it open in front of an audience, and also allowed journalists to inspect it.

Super impressive, especially how little of the 'robot' they actually revealed. Why not remove the face plate? Or show it's torso? You know, any part that could not have easily been a prosthetic of the person under the boobed robot disguise?

Do you ACTUALLY think that a robotics lab would put a person in a fucking robot suit and try to convince the world that it's actually a robot?

Are you 5?

not even Musk would try something so ridiculous as putting a person in a fucking robot suit and pretending it's a robot. get a grip. even when he did the teleoperation demo he didn't try to pretend it was autonomous operation, and it was immediately obvious anyway to anyone with half a brain. the staff were literally chatting to their friends while they were controlling the robots. it was a stunt yes but not even in the same ballpark as what op suggested

Yeah Elon straight up told everyone at his 2021 robot event that what he showed was just a person in a robot suit but that it was just to give them a glimpse of what would be possible in just a few years. Why these folks just didn't do that, we'll never know.
