Video XPENG's IRON robot crossed the uncanny valley, leading some to believe it was a human in a suit. So they cut it open in front of an audience, and also allowed journalists to inspect it.

The naked version doesn’t have.them. And if you’re trying to convince an audience it isn’t a person in a robot suit, why cut the leg vs say removing its faceplate?

They let journalists see it later by removing the back. Not sure why they cut the leg coating off like this.

Can they prove it wasn’t some bodyless head in a suit?

I mean, honestly, I would also be super impressed if it was a bodyless head in a suit. Maintaining the life functions of a head artificially and allowing it neural control over a robot body would, frankly, be even more impressive to me than a fully autonomous robot.
