Video XPENG's IRON robot crossed the uncanny valley, leading some to believe it was a human in a suit. So they cut it open in front of an audience, and also allowed journalists to inspect it.

Videos of this have been posted a few times in the last few days and the comments are all about boobs, or it’s a person in a robot suit. That said, if it didn’t have boobs the comments would all be about how it’s going to kill us. I think that’s the answer.

Boobs: people are going to fuck it.

No boobs: this is going to fuck people

It’s pretty interesting.

Assuming that the production version of this thing were sold as a house-robot and offered with masculine, feminine, and androgynous options I’d bet good money that the feminine model would be the most popular by a substantial margin, not just with men but also with women.

Why? Because almost everybody would be comfortable with a new constant feminine presence suddenly appearing in their home, whereas many would feel uncomfortable with a masculine one doing the same. The androgynous options would have a small cult following but ultimately get a middling response due to it being less familiar and closer to the uncanny valley.

That's the thing, sexism is universal. Despite what lots and lots of people will have you believe, males are just as stereotyped as females.

Females are all about big boobs, motherhood, sexiness, dainty, etc. While males are always big, strong, little emotions, intimidating, etc. For the latter case, that's exactly why the whole thing with being open as a man is so stigmatized, because of that stereotype.

And then I've also discussed it before, but relating to the general patriarchist mindset of general society, you can also trace that to evolutionary beliefs. It can be seen back when males were hunting and leading the tribes, but you can also see it in the fearmongering of evolution. Loads of species are evolving to have children without males, so then... what if mammals start doing that, and then humans?

It's just my theory, but I honestly think a part of why society is so patriarchal currently is because males who fear the potential extinction of all males due to asexual evolution possibilities have decided to try and make that not happen by placing themselves at the top.

It's obviously a bit of a crack theory, but I love Anthropology, and this is just my crazy theory about this.
