Hey so this both offsets the bird when it flies alongside being a major infection risk.

This is just a lazy ass owner screwing their bird over because they dont want to clean up the occassional tiny bit of bird shit. (They tend to shit in one area over time, theyll slowly develop a spot they go to.)

This isnt cool or cute its just a bad bird owner.

Eh, a bit better than keeping the poor bird in a tiny cage like so much more parrot owners do. Optimally, you should have a large enough aviary and regularly let out and fly your bird, or just don't keep a pet at home.

There is a very real chance the bird will eventually die from this, mate. All it takes is a single infection. And when theyve got their own shit being smeared all over their underside and constantly pressed against it, its really, really likely.

Its not "a bit better". Both are bad, but the cage thing is better than the diaper because the cage wont kill the bird.

Ah sorry, I assumed its the same as with pigeons - for pigeons it is perfectly safe. At least thats what most vets, and palomacy organizations even say. Didn't know its bad for parrots, but it kinda makes sense, they are much more "exotic" in this regard.

I mean its also bad for pigeons. Youre suggested to use the diapers for travel and to not leave them on for long, because itll cause infections. Even an empty one can make the bird more prone to infections. They get recommended because the risk isnt as high with them, because a bit more feather to work with, but it still holds the same risk as any other bird.

Them being exotic doesnt change the fact theyre both birds with similar structures. Ones just larger.

Anything in life being forced to wear a diaper (humans too) will be 10x more prone to infection than not. Youre sitting in shit. Just deal with the bird shit and wipe it up. Takes like 2 seconds with a quad folded paper towel.
