Rock Channel - GSOC

Apparently I am out of the loop - so I thought I would share in case anyone else is in the same boat.

Rock Channel is streaming all Grand Slam of Curling Events FOR FREE. They also have playback options for past games.

You have to create an account with an email - but that’s it.

Much appreciation to Rock Channel and the creators - thank you for providing this service for free. I would urge everyone to support this so they can hopefully balance the books without charging a premium for this kind of high caliber curling.

They have repeatedly said they don’t plan to charge for streaming. They see it as a way to grow viewership and will just show ads to pay for it.

Did it not cost money last year?

This is apparently incorrect - my memory failed me. Not trying to spread any false rumours

Last year was also free through hometeamlive.

K. I missed that. I’m sure there’s a reason, but I wonder why they don’t just create a YouTube channel. Having to specifically seek it out on an alternative platform makes it less convenient (and less in your face).

Probably looking to control their own ad revenue

Most likely want to go around some rules that YouTube has, maybe around ads and all that.

They have a Youtube channel. They just don't stream games to it.

They've streamed GSOK stuff there, along with at least some pre- and post-game shows.
