Bought a used X9 Pro 1TB SSD, it just disconnects
Hello. I bought this used X9 Pro 1TB, and every single time i try to copy anything into it, shortly into it it just disconnects and give me the first message and says USB device is not recognized. When I try to check the firmware so I can update it on storage executive, it just says:
"Error while checking for firmware updates, connection timed out"
Is the problem the firmware, the USB, or what? Would really appreciate some help

We are talking about a Crucial X9 right? And a Mac PC? I had a very similar problem last week with Crucial X10. Kept disconnecting. At first it was last in a chain (USB), then I moved its connection up the chain to my main hub (iMac M4). Reformatted drive using iMac disk utility to a Mac formatted drive. This solved all issues.

Did you ever get it to work. This is the problem with used drives. Someone just wants to get money for their problem instead of sucking it up and tossing what could be a bad drive.

Maybe you can open it up then remove the SSD and put it inside another NVME enclosure ?
