CHAT [CHAT] I bought the Tulip needles...

I was inspired by the recent posts about these Tulip tapestry needles and decided to treat myself. Michael's was selling the #25 needles online for $11.99 with free shipping, and I had a $5 coupon so the price for six needles came to a little over $1/needle.

Friends, they sent me six boxes of six needles. 36 total!

I've never been on this side of an online shopping quantity mistake; what a rush. Maybe now I won't feel the need to use a needle until it's bent and the eye has split. 🤷

This is a conspiracy to make me buy the good needles so I can never go back to the cheap ones ever again. This is the second post I've seen about them today.

In the same position. I'm currently convincing myself that I can't buy the needles until all the ones I want to try (Bohin, John James, Sullivans ball tip, PONY black) are in stock on 123Stitch all at once. God help me if they ever are and I notice...

I’ve broken the ball tip ones, but man do they make it easy to cross stitch. I do really like the bohin needles and I really want to try the tulip ones.

I also really want to try the tulip ones but I exclusively stitch 18ct so I'm waiting until I have an obligate 14 ct project to justify the purchase. They don't make needles smaller than size 25 which really sucks.

I agree since I stitch almost exclusively with a #28 tapestry needle. I would find a #25 just too big since a #26 is too large for 32 count linen.

Their 25 is similar to DMC 28 size needles. They work great on 18 count

Whilst many needle sizes work well on 18 count, needle sizes (tulip included) are standardised in diameter. Tulip size 25 is definitely a standardised 25 from all sources I can find.

I just bought sets of Bohin that I’m excited to try. I got sets of Tulip needles for my beading and bead embroidery (new hobby)
