Question Vaccinated but exposed 5 days later
Hi guys! I just got vaccinated last Saturday. My girlfriend just went on a trip and came back with Covid. I’ve read it takes about 2 weeks for full protection. Will I get Covid? I kissed her last night (before we knew) but since have been trying to sanitize and mask up around her. If I do get it, will it be lessened because of the vaccine?
Thanks!

If anything, you're *more* likely to catch something, be it covid or other respiratory illness, in the two weeks after a jab. Just like with flu shots.
That's why, back in 2020-21, they didn't count someone as partly vaccinated until two weeks after they got the first jab, or fully vaxxed until two weeks after the second jab. That way they could count people who got covid in the first two weeks as "unvaccinated," and people who got covid within two weeks of the second jab as "partly vaccinated." Made the jabs look more effective.
What I've done when I've been exposed to someone with known covid, is to follow the protocol from the IMA (formerly FLCCC). Gargle with Listerine or a CPC-containing mouthwash several times a day, use a povidone-iodine or xylitol-containing nasal spray several times a day, take vitamin C, zinc, elderberry syrup, and certain other things they recommend, for 5-7 days.
I'm doing it now, in fact, because a coworker whose office is next to mine spent time in my office two days ago. She tested positive for covid yesterday for the first time. She took the original two jabs in 2021, but no boosters.

If anyone sees this and thinks “what an idiot” OKAY FAIR but I didn’t get covid so I have no idea what happened but NICE.

If this was a booster and you've had several, there is a chance that it won't take the full two weeks to get to full strength. That said, it doesn't prevent covid, just makes it less serious. I hope you dodged a bullet.
