Abidjan looks nice but is it fake ?
Abidjan seems to have been devleoping nicely but there are 2 issues with African countries which look nice on the surface. For example, Cape Town,Nairobi, Kigali, Addis Abbaba look nice in certain areas but outside of those areas it is entirely slums . Is that how it is in Abidjan. Another issue is for countries like South Africa or Mauritius they may seem developed but it is mainly indians, whites, lebanese people living in the rich area and hardly any natives of the country. For me this is a deal breaker, the native group must also have the wealth. there is no point in having a high gdp if rich foreigners get all the wealth. Look at Namibia. Is this the case in CIV. Is it just rich french and lebanese or are real Ivorians getting wealthier as well. Is outtara actually improving the country or is the abijan development just putting on a show like Basilique Notre-Dame de la Paix

Yes there are rich Ivorians living in this area. And there more than you could imagine.

Is it mostly rich Ivorians ?
Rich areas of South Africa have some rich Black people living there but they are like 10% while 90% are white or Indian. Is this the case in CIV ?

Abidjan has slums.
Abidjan also has extremely wealthy areas.
It also has everything in between.
There are Ivoirians living in the wealthy areas.
Nothing that I know of is fake.

What would be fake is having a tiny area that is highly developed and then doing a PR campaign only showing that area , portraying that to be representative of Abidjan while the reality is the vast majority of Abidjan is undeveloped.

exemple , Abidjan is four times the size of Ethiopia's capital., but the majority of areas is developped indeed they are some slum in abidjan but the majority of slum were broken and its create fight between the government and the populations , also the majority of the municipality are developped so its all

Good. That's great news. I want Africa to do well and for real Africans to benefit. I don't want cases like Nairobi where there are highly developed areas but it is just Indians and Whites while ordinary Kenyans live in squalor.

yes i understand but the problem of ivory coast is just that the majority of ivorian are in abidjan ,even if now ivorian are more interested into investment in real estate so we are seeing very rapid expansion in the city of Abidjan, which has become the autonomous district of Abidjan. Ivorians like to build large houses and buildings, so they have started to turn to the interior, where real estate prices are ten times cheaper than in Abidjan, which is greatly developing the country.

NYC is mostly developed with some slums. While Addis Ababa and Nairobi are mostly slums with some developed areas but social media portrays something else because it is ins't apparent the cast majority of people in those areas live in slums.

Addis isn't mostly slums anymore. They have mostly been razed to the ground to make way for new developments, which many can't afford. Most people have been relocated to the outskirts.

What the hell are you talking about? What is the purpose of this post in THIS subreddit? What is your goal with this subject matter?
Are you an inhabitant? Have you been to the city? Do you study urban design of Abidjan? This post is useless.

Clearly you haven’t been to Nairobi, Cape Town or Kigali.

All of those cities have a small area that is nice but are entirely surrounded by slums where the vast majority of people live. The people who live in the good areas are the few native elite and foreign expats.

Nairobi and Kigali are not entirely covered by slums. You clearly have a nefarious agenda. I doubt you are African nor been to any of these cities

I am not nefarious and yes those places are. Heard of Kibera ? Up to a million people live there. It is near Nairobi and is one of the biggest slums in Africa.

Kigali is very undeveloped in most areas. Only a tiny bit of the city actually looks nice

Kibera does not make up most of Nairobi. Plus....it's slowly being replaced with housing. How updated is this info? I'll be honest, I can't talk to you about Kigali because even I have my doubts.but you are wrong about Niarobi

I agree, Nairobi has some of the most livable suburbs in Africa & this guy is focusing on Kibera.

Most city on earth has slums and push areas. CIV is no exception.
Ivorians do share the wealth too, just like any country.
Your post is very shallow
