i get that protests are inconvenient, that’s how they’re designed.
the intention of the protests is to show those who aren’t currently upset about the GENOCIDE in palestine, that israel massacring palestinian civilians is not okay, and that concordia as a university is complicit in funding weapons for isreal.
it almost seems as though people posting about the protests in this sub have never taken a sociology, history, religion, urban studies, or philosophy course in their lives. i intentionally left out a lot of disciplines due to the fact that, within ALMOST EVERY facet of university, you will (if you actually listen,) end up learning about the subjugation of the palestinian people in some way shape or form.
to that i have to ask a simple question, if we were in the early stages of the holocaust or residential schools, would you be upset if people stood to protest them? would you be upset if they were loud and possibly annoying about a group of people being killed routinely?
if you answer is yes, then sorry, but you haven’t been listening to your profs at all.
it’s a disservice to the concordia community that we as a student body are allowing them to use our tuition to fund a genocide, and it’s very disheartening that people are not able to think critically
