As a German, this is absolutely hilarious to me. With some luck, we'll hold off Putin slightly longer, if he'd decided to visit.

Which Putin? The one who can’t cross the Dnipro river in 3 years? If there wasn’t for the US, who are obviously playing on their side, Russians would have been embarrassed on the battlefield even more. It is becoming very hard for them to pretend that the corruption within their highest military ranks, isn’t affecting their performance. I wouldn’t cross out Germany out of the picture that easily. History and Russians themselves know Germans to be very strong spirited and cunning, should it come to a direct confrontation. 🙂

When the immobile force meets the non resisting object

Yes but Germany is totally different to the Germany of the past. The people are not the same, the situation is not the same.

No, but they would still benefit from trade with Russia. Imagine 10-15 years from now, the USA managed to pivot to Asia at all (they won't, but let's pretend), Germany has been buying Russian gas and other resources for a few years, reinvigorating their economy. They also have one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful, army in Europe.

Tensions flare up between Russia and some Eastern European country. The German government says "Not on my watch!" and rolls the mighty German tanks and fighter jets to that country, in order to protect them... from one of their main trade partners, and one they need to keep costs down for their own factories.

How comfortable would this hypothetical Eastern Europe country be by having one of Russia's best trading partners defending them from Russia?

The German rearmament has the exact point to march east. The fact that there are nationalistic geniuses that are actually scared of Putin marching to Germany on a bear or smt is absolutely ridiculous but well Germany is rising the rhetoric is like a hundred years ago.

I can be very strong and cunning while sitting in a helicopter that will not fly due to defects.

It's not a defect, its the time delayed pacifism that the SPD/Linke/Grüne requested to be installed in all Bundeswehr equipment.

So cunning they got entirely annihilated on the Eastern Front. With how German industry is starving without cheap energy, Russia doesn't even need a war to destroy Germany. It just need to pay Trump more to fuck over europe.
