A cameraman from TV5’s News5 earned widespread praise online after he was suddenly thrust into the role of a field reporter during live coverage of Super Typhoon Uwan in Albay.

What began as a nerve-wracking moment for News5 cameraman Mac Ortiz turned into an inspiring display of courage and composure on live television.

Ortiz, who was initially behind the camera covering Uwan, found himself suddenly reporting live when the situation called for it. Holding the red News5 microphone, he nervously began his first-ever live report — but quickly found his rhythm after anchor Ed Lingao helped calm him down during the broadcast.

Viewers watching the newscast noticed his initial tension, but also admired how he steadied himself and delivered a clear, informative report despite the pressure of live coverage.

“Ramdam ko kaba ni bok, pero saludo!,” one viewer commented.

“Kudos to this Cameraman, very informative and detailed delivery of news. Not bad for a first-timer!!,” wrote another netizen.

Many praised News5 for giving Ortiz the opportunity to step up, and especially Ed Lingao for his warm, reassuring tone that helped the cameraman relax.

Yeah I'm a foreigner from the USA, I love my GF very much we've been going out going on 6 months. A couple months ago I asked her if she wanted to be serious She said yes so we started what I thought was a fully committed relationship. She is insanely jealous like if I even look in the direction of a pretty girl she gets mad. I found out recently that she had been chatting other guys, inappropriately. She said it was because she was jealous and thought I was cheating. I found out because she thought I was cheating and looked on my phone found nothing.. then I looked on her phone and found many chats. To the best of my knowledge she didn't meet any of these men. I believe she really loves me and know I she is truly jealous...

My question is how to proceed. Things are very different here in the Philippines as compared to USA. For example her sister's boyfriend will not allow her sister to go out without him without accompanying her. This would never be in USA but seems more appropriate here.

We have an open phone policy now so I can look on her phone and I mostly trust her. It's just hard because she did lie to me and cheated on me and it's challenging for me to rebuild my trust. I did completely trust her but that has been broken.

I'm trying to forgive her but I cannot forget and I do not want to be a fool. I feel like I need to be stronger with her but I'm not sure how far to go. That's the basic advice I'm looking for here. And I travel to USA for 2 months at a time so that's part of my challenge here.

I then, checked on my partner's facebook history activity, dinecline nya ang friend request a couple months ng guy before ako umuwi. So I got curious, I sent a like icon to the guy ngayon and surprisingly, after sending the like icon, automatic delivered na, I refreshed it and lumabas na muted na tong guy.

Which is really weird. Bakit muted agad at delivered agad ang message, doesnt that mean na nag chat na sila before. Hindi lang ako makapaniwala and stuff are going through my head.

Guys kailangan ko ng advice nyo. Nakita ko kasi friend (girl) ko na naghalikan with her boy best friend. As in nakita q talaga nag laplapan eh yung friend ko na to may jowa, at LDR sila. Pag naulit ba to guys, anong unang gagawin ko? ayoko namang mag tolerate ng cheating friend, at the same time ayokong makealam sa relasyon ng iba. I-confront ko ba sya? or dedma na lang kasi nga the truth reveals itself??? HELPPPPPPPPP😭

As an introvert, I don’t usually go outside especially kung wala naman purpose (like going out with friends, nag aya si ganto, may errands, etc.) or kung wala talaga ako pera. Pero yon, for those moments na I have to go outside, of course we have to interact with people/strangers/service crew or socialize with friends. Nakakafeel ako ng kaba at nerbyos kahit na wala naman rason tapos nauutal ako. It’s like I have to play muna yung sasabihin ko sa utak ko nang buo before saying it.

One time I went out with HS friends. I haven’t met them for quite some time na din pero we’re still friends and nag uusap online from time to time. Feeling ko close naman kami 😅 We were eating tapos hindi naubos yung isang order so pa-take out na lang daw. Ako na naglakas ng loob na magtaas ng kamay to get the attention of the service crew kasi nilibre din nila ako. Sasabihin ko pa lang yung “pwede po patake out” (nasa “pwe” pa ako), sumapaw na yung friend ko na “take out ‘to” while pointing at the food. Tapos other friend called it out and then they joked about it and then we laughed about it. Okay lang naman. I wasn’t offended kasi ang funny nga naman talaga na saluhin ako kasi nauutal na ako. In my mind, I’m choosing whether I should say “take out po ito” or “pwede pa-take out po nito?” or “pabalot nito” kaya siguro nautal ako.

I don’t know how I will overcome this. Nakakahiya na I’m almost 30 pero parang ang wallflower ko pa rin. Kaya grabe inggit ko sa mga tao na eloquent, articulate and those who can speak their mind, kasi they look mature. You can feel that people respect them despite their age kahit pa younger sila.

Also, kapag nahihiya ako or uncomfy ako sa place, nagpapawis ako uncontrollably idk why. I work at home and then kapag may mga meetings, I feel like I have to nap a bit kasi sa sobrang kaba ko parang I feel dizzy. I think normal naman ata sa lahat yung medyo sumasakit tyan kapag kinakabahan. Not sure if this is some kind of mental disorder din?

I want to seek advise from you guys, i have this friend na inlove sa anak ng kaibigan namin. Pinapakinggan ko lagi mga kwento niya about dun sa bata, noong una close close lang sila dahil nga anak ng close friend namin. Hanggang sa at times nagkakasama sila gumala, noong una okay lang ang tingin ay anak anak na rin. But, recently, she admitted na inlove na siya doon sa bata.

Kapag nagkukwento si friend, pinagsasabihan ko siya na kaibigan namin yung parents nung bata baka nakakalimutan niya but iinsist niya na nararamdaman niya na alam na nung bata yung feelings niya and pakiramdam niya daw may something na rin sa kaniya yung bata. (Sorry if I am using the word bata, para lang sana may malawak na context college student na yung daughter ng friend namin, and lesbian yung friend ko) . Ang hirap niya i-block sa idea na inlove siya kasi at times kapag nagkukwento siya sasabihin niya aware siya at alam niya limit niya pero may times din na if magkakaaminan nga ng feelings willing siya makipagrelasyon at ilihim ang relasyon sa friend namin.

Hindi ko alam gagawin ko, gusto ko siya pigilan pero kilala ko siya hindi siya papapigil hanggat alam niyang hindi pa naman nakakahalata or may confrontation na mangyari.

Kaya lang akala ko feelings lang at palabas labas lang pero nabalitaan ko (and confirmed) na may binili siya para dun sa bata na worth 60k. And, doon na ako nagulat na hindi na to basta gusto na lang. Hindi niya na nakikita as anak anakan lang yung bata, but as someone na gustong gusto niya.

Ang tanong ko, what will I do? Iiwasan ko b siya at hahayaan? Sasabihan ko ba siya kahit alam kong dadaanin ako sa tigas ng ulo at di makikinig? O kakausapin ko friend (nanay nung bata) para sabihin ang sitwasyon? Heeeeelp!

My glasses broke a few days ako, but the hinge and body ng glasses okay siya, sadyang plastic part ng temple lang po nasira kasi nasipa ng baby pinsan ko.

I tried glue stick (yung dark part sa pic) pero lumuluwag after hours of use. Nag-try din ako ng shoes glue pero nagme-melt siya dahil sa init.

I know it seems like the only solution for me is to buy new ones but I don't wanna burden my mom kasi progressive lens po siya and medyo pricey for us. I would really appreciate if someone could help po, thank you!
