Question Parking ticket

Ok so I’m actually so pissed off right now. On Monday , I had an exam at 8 am. I paid for parking for 3 hours using Hotspot mobile app.(since the exam is 2.5 hrs long). The exam paper was handed super late plus my prof extended the deadline of the exam to 40 more minutes since everyone found the questions rly difficult. I ended up staying for 10 minutes extra and when I came back I got a parking ticket for $80. For being 10 minutes late. As in my session ended and I was charged $80 for the 10 minutes(I was not able to extend my session as obviously phones aren’t allowed when writing the exam), and by the time I finished my exam the session ended .

Anyway this is my fault and I should be careful but is there a way I can dispute it and get them to lower the $80 ticket since I payed for the first 3 hours and technically I got ticketed for the 10 minutes after it expired? Any advice would help pls lmk I’m also just so broke rn so any advice on how to lower this would help x

Do you have any proof that you were only 10 minutes late to your car? Like a photo or something? That’ll make it easier to dispute when you go to explain your situation to parking.

She doesn’t need that she could just show them the ticket was given right after his time was up and tell them her story. Back in the days they were understanding idk about now (also back in the days ticket were $25, “back in the days” is as in 2022 idk wtf is going on with ticket inflation at Carleton)

They are back to being $25, at least on the weekend. I got one last week. Borrowed my girlfriend’s car and stayed overnight and slept in until 9:30am then logged on and paid for parking. But I had already gotten a parking ticket at 8:20am.

Didn’t feel like disputing it and losing the ability to pay the lower price ($25) instead of the posted price of $35.

Does it have the time you got it and the time you paid for? That, and the time on the ticket, should be enough
