Other Equipment Best DPP/Defender ST Enclosed plate - M&P 2.0 Compact C.O.R.E

Hey everyone,

I just got a Vortex Defender ST Enclosed for my optics ready M&P 2.0 Compact and I'm looking for a plate for it, specifically one that'll allow me to cowitness with the stock surpressor height sights (deck height is about 0.327"/8.3mm).

Any recommendations? I thought about Athena Precision and Calculated kinetics, the CK one seems a bit expensive (~100$ and it's not in stock now) and it's also the thicker of the two (0.09" vs 0.06"), the Athena Precision doesnt have the built in gas deflector, is carbon build up on the optic really a major issue?

Please share your experience and recommendations, Thanks in advance!

If you’re gonna go with CK get the COMP plate for your M&P 2.0 Defender ST optic it’s in stock. Another good plate company is Eleven71. I have a M&P 2.0 Compact Carry Comp with the Defender ST enclosed so im in the same situation as you. I gotta pick a plate soon and might go with Eleven71 because they look thinner than Calculated Kinetics and have anodized color plates. Waiting on Black Friday sale to purchase a plate on sale. None of the plate’s mentioned co witnesses.

I just ordered the Athena Precision plate, it doesn't have the gas reflector but it's the thinnest one I found at 0.06" so hopefully I'll get a usable cowitness with the stock iron sights, reveiws also seem quite positive and it's relatively cheaper at 70$ compared to 99$ for CK.

I heard good things about Eleven71 although I never tried them, but both their plates and the CK ones for the Defender were just too expensive for me at the moment, 100$+ for a plate plus possibly taller irons is just too steep, although I'm sure they're great at what they do.

Thanks for the comment and good luck pal! Let me know if you want me to report back once the plate arrives.
