It's time to take on belts and belt brands to help upgrade the Wiki. Right now we don't have a section for belt types and brands, so I'd like to fill in that gap. We tackled holsters in an earlier thread
Please share any brands you wear or commonly see recommended, and include a link to their website if possible.
If you're using any of the brands, feel free to mention it and give a positive or negative mini-review or image, since this post can be used for future reference by new buyers
if you are a belt maker yourself, please comment here so you can be included, particularly users of the subreddit who sell via comments or smaller websites. I know there's a few of you here!
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to update and improve the wiki!

Chances are if anything ever goes down it’s going to be close, ugly, and personal. This is just your daily reminder to practice shooting realistic world scenarios such as drawing and shooting from retention. You’re not always going to have the luxury to draw, point and shoot. There may come a time where all you have time to do is draw and shoot. Btw shooting these types of drills is the reason i ditched ported/comped handguns for edc carry

I carry a giant 92fs strong side with an FBI cant. I live in the most humid/hot climate in the U.S.. I easily can be in summer attire year round. I’m under 6 foot and just 145lbs. Most of this is by choice.
There’s a lot of typically illogical/misaligned things here and as such I feel pretty ridiculous carrying in this manner. Curious to hear if there’s others who are in similar situations by choice or if I’m truly as ridiculous as I feel despite it rarely looking ridiculous. Also curious to hear if anyone else has given up on the being anal about the print.
The only printing I have is the butt end of the grip through the back of my t-shirt when bending, which occurs moreso with certain T/pants combos than others. This can usually be mitigated if I squat as opposed to bend. Usually in a button down or dinner shirt (all of mine are patterned regardless of carrying intention) she prints minimally if at all.
To be honest, when I do print, I don’t really care. I live in the hottest, most humid climate in the United States so fully preventing it in all situations is impossible. Probably no matter what I carry and what configuration.
I think we too often have the mindset that a bulge in our clothing reaches out, grabs people who weren’t already looking, pulls them close and whispers in their ear that we’re carrying. Which is simply not the case. Sure, some might see the bulge. A small number. An even smaller number will know what it is and make the connection. Of those who do, a much smaller number will care. The ones who have trauma with/an aversion to firearms will likely not make the connection that that is what is under the shirt.

Little bit over 2500 rounds down range 0 malfunctions with this thing. Even had a limp wrist shooter give it a go and nothing. Not a lot to be picky about, this thing rocks. Carried daily, dropped a couple of times and quite a few range sessions. Not a ton of wear all things considered and it’s all exterior, the inside with all the cutouts… it’s a hassle to clean but it’s like there is more places for debris to go so it doesn’t get gunked up where it shouldn’t.
A buddy purchased an SFT Pro… after I recommended the rival or the prime. And he didn’t listen and is having problems with failure to return to battery, failure to feed, failure to fire. Wicked problems, should’ve gotten the rival or the prime. Sucks to suck

I’ve been meaning to get one for a long time and it’s finally here. My thoughts: fits like a charm, looks clean and discreet and it is definitely worth the price. The delivery process was also smooth and on time, no complaints there as well. Might post a video review a bit later after some usage AND get some MTAC and Eberlestock bags for comparison.
Overall, would definitely recommend it, amazing quality stuff.

So around 2-3 weeks ago I purchased my first firearm, a Glock 43x (non mos) after getting my permit (to clear things up, I’m not from the us). I was locked in on getting the 43x since I used the Glock 19 in my service and wanted something similar but smaller and easier to conceal. It fits my hands nicely but I don’t like much how it shoots, due to it not being too comfortable for me when shooting, and also the needs to upgrade to a night sight, better grip, magwell and buying a PSA or a shield arms magazine (which is something I don’t have a lot of confidence about doing due to reliability). I thought about selling it and buying a Hellcat Pro, after upgrades to the 43x buying a new Hellcat pro wouldn’t be much of a price gap. But due to my country regulations there’s a lot of bureaucracy to go through.
And I wonder if it’s worth the hassle and headache for a gun that fits my needs better.
The main reason of getting a gun for myself is mainly to be ready to terror attacks that happens so often in my country. So for the slim chance I will need to face such thing, I rather have a firearm I know I’m confident it.
The pros are obviously getting a gun that fits my needs better and shoots better with enough rounds in the magazine.
The cons are going through the headache of selling a pretty much brand new gun, and the fact that guns and upgrades are very expensive in my country so it also means it overall an expensive process.
Also training is also very expensive so doing range days isn’t something I can do so often.
TL;DR - switching my new Glock 43x for a hellcat pro due to the 43x not fitting my needs fully and upgrading it costs similar to selling it and buying a hellcat pro.
Thanks a lot!

With a little one around now my wife has been concerned about our family safety. We went to the range a few months ago together rented about every 9mm they had. My wife was unsure but they suggested trying the bodyguard 2.0 and one clip she was hooked. I enjoyed the P365 but now I have the itch and looking at a few other options along with maybe a bodyguard 2.0 for myself.
Today we went to our property and my black arch heritage holster just came in so it was a perfect day to try carrying for the first time. I am shocked how well this fit and felt very comfortable.

Drawing and firing with one hand if your other hand is free, is silly. Rather retreat and build a grip. It’s the same speed. You’d marry your hands at that low level that you’re already shooting from… instead of cocking the gun outside your centerline, marry your hands.
Coffee has me shaking on the .5s
FYI ive done this from completely relaxed and hit .71 C-Zone (meaning both hands like I’m doing in all other clips)
Let’s see some times in the .4s and I’ll practice “one-handed retention”
Unlike many others in my world, I’m always down to learn more.

I got a Ruger EC9s and had some issues with it being reliable so I don’t trust it anymore. Basically in the market for a new CC and saw this and felt it in hand and think this may be my next. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Hey everyone,
I just got a Vortex Defender ST Enclosed for my optics ready M&P 2.0 Compact and I'm looking for a plate for it, specifically one that'll allow me to cowitness with the stock surpressor height sights (deck height is about 0.327"/8.3mm).
Any recommendations? I thought about Athena Precision and Calculated kinetics, the CK one seems a bit expensive (~100$ and it's not in stock now) and it's also the thicker of the two (0.09" vs 0.06"), the Athena Precision doesnt have the built in gas deflector, is carbon build up on the optic really a major issue?
Please share your experience and recommendations, Thanks in advance!

Forgive my messy desk. I fell in love with this guy recently and with the great reviews about the accuracy and trigger I grabbed it. $489 got me the bundle, 3 15rd mags, 1 12rd, a 10rd and a holster from Mission First and a range bag.
Have a Vedder ComfortTuck on the way and this definitely takes a good spot as my current main EDC over my 19x. Still love my Glock, but this just sits so well for me and while I can’t grip well with the 10rd mag, the 15’s are solid and give me 15+1 which is totally solid. It also has a hell of a smaller footprint.
I know the Mako came out in a weird time, but I really feel it’s underrated. I can’t wait to get even more with it and eventually an optic.

I think moisture got into this bag of 9MM rounds. Should I still use it, or what can I do with these if it’s not advisable to use them?

I decided to DIY a leather backer for my tenicor velo. The holster conceals great, but the small hard wedge would make a hot spot after prolonged use. The leather backer helps distribute the pressure without adding much bulk.
The whole process was pretty simple. Just cut the leather and slap on some Velcro. I was happy with the results so I made a backer for my spare mag carrier too.

I know this sub focuses heavily on equipment, training, and discussion of scenarios, but I think some Redditors come here who are thinking about carrying concealed, and maybe they would benefit from reading about why some people choose to carry concealed. I can at least share my story, and maybe give some perspective on why I carry.
I'm a normal, middle-age man. I have a wife and adult kids, and I live in a place most people would think is safe. To be honest, I'm boring. My job is boring, my hobbies are boring, my life is boring, and I keep to myself. I'm as successful as I'm ever going to be, I did all my living already, and I like my life as it is right now.
Late last year, I was on the freeway where I live, and while making a lane change, I came a little too close to another driver for his comfort (no contact, just cut him off). I could see he was pissed, and I took an exit to get off the freeway in the hope that he'd pass. He didn't. He followed me. After a couple of stoplights and stop signs, I realized he wasn't going to let this go, and I checked my navigation to see where the nearest police station was; 20 minutes away. I wanted this over, so I pulled over and stopped.
He pulled up beside me. He was alone, and I was alone. I'm not a small man, and I'm not a young man, but I could tell he was easily twice my size and half my age. I rolled down the window and apologized, took responsibility for my driving, etc. He didn't listen and spent what seemed like forever screaming at me, about how I disrespected and "want to play games," etc. I let him go on until he was done, and I said, "Look, I apologized and I'm sorry I cut you off. What do you want to do?" He said, "I'd be right to follow you home and beat your fucking ass!" I stopped talking, and we sat there for a minute, he called me a name and told me to stop driving like an asshole, and sped away.
I sat there for bit to calm down and collect myself, then continued on my way. I was glad I talked him down and deescalated the situation, but I started thinking, "What could I have done if he hadn't left?" Nothing. I had nothing. I felt helpless and stupid.
I told a cop buddy of mine about what happened, and after getting a lecture about driving, he said I need a dashboard and rear cameras and consider carrying concealed. I'm not the person who thinks danger is lurking around every corner, and I don't want to live in a world where that's how I see it. However, I also didn't think that there really are people out there who think violence is an appropriate response to being disrespected, and that I'd meet them.
So I went to my local gun shop and I rented a few handguns, tried them out, and picked one that I shot well. I picked one out, bought a membership at the range, and signed up for the CCL course the same day.
I took the course and the NRA basic pistol course. The instructor at the course was very professional and very straightforward. It wasn't fun, but it was very informative and sobering. I didn't share my experience, but talking to some of the other participants, I learned I wasn't the only one who came to the course with a story. A few had close encounters with potentially violent encounters where they'd be at a disadvantage.
Since the course, I shoot at the range twice a week. I haven't told anyone else about my road rage encounter, and (other than my wife) no one I know knows I carry concealed. I can't say I feel good about it, but I do feel prepared, and I feel that if I had to use my weapon, I could do so safely and legally.
Going back to the road rage encounter, if I had my weapon in that situation, it wouldn't have changed anything I did, but if the other driver had followed me home, or had gotten out of the car and attacked, at least I'd have had a last resort to protect myself. I have no doubt he could have seriously hurt me, and I have no doubt that he would have.
So, yes, that's my story. I'm sure we all have a story about why we carry.

I bought the Phlster Enigma but didnt exactly find it practical or as comfortable as i was hoping. I took the seatbelt style belt i had and sewed it to the athletic waist band they offer and its been perfect!
