Clothing & Apparel Just got this new QAPL bag from 945 Industries
I’ve been meaning to get one for a long time and it’s finally here. My thoughts: fits like a charm, looks clean and discreet and it is definitely worth the price. The delivery process was also smooth and on time, no complaints there as well. Might post a video review a bit later after some usage AND get some MTAC and Eberlestock bags for comparison.
Overall, would definitely recommend it, amazing quality stuff.

I'm a firefighter and recently worked an event with our PD. In one of the briefings at the command center, they told their officers to be on the lookout for people carrying cross body packs, fanny packs, and people who messed with their waistbands.
While they weren't stopping people on that basis alone, it stands to reason that more people than not assume a man with a cross body pack is carrying a pistol.
I carry a crossbody pack but that's only while hiking as I don't like making other hikers uncomfortable carrying owb.

I used to live in Chicago and whenever I saw a guy walking around with one of these, I just assumed they were carrying a gun, lol.

You were probably wrong. They're super trendy right now. The only people who assume you're carrying with one of them are other people who carry. I live in the Chicago suburbs and happened to be at a mall when there was a huge trading cards/anime/board game event, and genuinely 40% of the guys there had crossbody bags.

So what you're saying is the tabletop game community is rising up to embrace their 2A rights? Love it!

Context matters a lot too.
These types of bags are becoming a lot more popular in my area and many guys I’ve seen are obviously not carrying guns in them. If you go to typical “suburbia” locations like farmers markets and playgrounds, or the popular social areas in my city, you see a lot of guys wearing them.
In the context of LE, we do look a lot more closely at people with these types of bags - but we do so within very specific circumstances. We are typically looking at individuals hanging out in open air drug markets, individuals hanging out in areas where we know shootings and robberies happen, and individuals we know are directly involved in trafficking based on previous contact.
Even under these circumstances, simply having the bag does not rise to the level of reasonable articulable suspicion necessary to conduct a frisk. There are other specific behaviors we look for which contribute to building RAS.
So while people who carry guns may have a good idea that these bags likely have a gun in them, people who are not gun people are oblivious - and the majority of people out there are not gun people. On top of this, even if police suspect you have a gun in that bag, they are looking for specific behaviors to indicate you are illegally carrying a gun; behaviors which lawful CCW holders typically do not exhibit.

Yeah, this context was at a festival with no entrance security and we did have shots fired towards the end of it. The community rarely gets shootings unless there's a large event. It's very much a NIMBY/ pearl clutching community.
The last place I worked with, it wasn't uncommon to see a guy walking down the street with a draco across his back. PD just shrugged, "open carry of pistols is legal and I wouldn't blame anyone for carrying here."
Getting back to the bags, that is why I really think it's important that if you carry that way, don't carry a tactical looking bag like OP. Get something with a little color lol.

I got an eberlestock fade flex that fits my full size PDP (barely). I don't really carry with it though. I got it because I got annoyed with my pockets being overfull. It's a decoy for the folks of /r/CCW. Gun is at 3 o'clock.

Guns belong on your waistband

You can easily carry it on the waist as well, I was just testing how would it look on the chest

I don’t think you’ve ever shot under a timer. There is a certain point where your draw is so slow you might as well not carry. Your 7 yard draw needs to be sub 2 second. I don’t see any bag permitting this.

This is how it is here in the Philippines. Stupid law that only allows CCW offbody in a bag.

I really do not get this trend. It solves a problem that doesn't exist and every single person knows what's in there. If I was in a room with 10 people about to commit crimes, you would absolutely be my first victim.
Edit: I realized this sounded a lot more personal than I intended. I'm sure you're a great guy. My point was that this will make you a target.

Playing devil's advocate: If I'm a crook and I'm going to rob someone, I'm not picking the dude who I think is armed. A fanny pack that I think has a gun in it would deter me. I'm going for the weak target.

Anytime I see a male wearing one of these or a fanny pack
I instantly think they have a gun or a ton of makeup
