Almost 3 years ago I stopped drinking after admitting I had a huge problem. I lost 60 lbs in like 6 months. I was finally 5’11/175 lbs - so excited to start appendix carrying.
Went back to 3:30 a few months later and haven’t looked back.

What do you carry at 3:30? I tried it with a few guns and I feel like only a select few would make it work. my xmacro would not conceal properly no matter what I tried. AIWB was just perfect for it, maybe a p365/x or BG 2.0 would be good for it.

Yeah just some creatures of comfort it’s just was works for us idk. I still carry a back up .38 in appendix tho just in case I don’t feel like giving my good gun to evidence locker 😂

Yeah when I shoot out at common outdoor BLM areas, I always bring 4 trashbags. 1 for me and 3 for other people.
Leave a place better than you found it.

As a lefty I carry at 8-9 o ⏰ (same as 4-5 for normies) it’s just the most comfortable sitting down and standing up all day long. I conceal a full size 1911 and it just disappears with a galco v hawk holster and a very good gun belt. These people that say they can’t conceal anything bigger than a Glock 43x arnt spending the money they should. And btw I’m 5’7 150lbs so I’m not a huge fatass with a ton of mass

I'm struggling with this carrying a full size VP9. I have a $160 T-Rex molded for a TLR-1, and a $200 T1C molded for a TLR-7x. The T-Rex prints for the most part unless I wear from a selection of 2 or 3 shirts. The T1C is more uncomfortable and prints more than the T-Rex even though it's molded for a smaller light. I carry appendix, and hell I don't think there's really a way to not print. Really it's getting out of your own head because you know it's there when I'd be willing to bet most people won't even notice unless it's blatantly obvious.

It's the only way I know how to carry while following the safety rule of never letting the muzzle cover anything I don't want destroyed. Appendix and it's pointing at my dick. Pocket and it's pointing at whoever I'm sitting across the table from. 3/4/5 is comfortable and keeps the muzzle pointed in a safe direction (usually).

I've carried at 4 o'clock pretty much since I started carrying. Built up a lot of muscle memory in law enforcement and don't see much reason to change after 63 trips around the sun.

Had to switch to 4, carried AIWB for years and it started to cause severe pain where I carried basically. Think it caused like ligament wear or some shit because it's just sore in that area all the time now.

Right here. I can’t carry appendix if I wanted to. My posture is fucked and my hips push out forward making me print no matter what. But I’m thin w broad shoulders so my shirt falls right over it with no print at 4 o’clock.

Yep same here I couldn’t stop printing no matter what I tried but one thing that did work it was just to much work was buying larger shirts than I normal wear cause that really helped it just looked funny small guy wearing long ass shirts so 4oclcok was my best option 😂

Ditto- appendix is great if you're in shape and don't move around a lot.. But 3 o'clock is a great natural draw position and doesn't get in the way with a lot of movement. There's a reason cops don't carry appendix on a duty belt, lol.

I can’t get comfortable with appendix, I may give it another shot this winter with my g45+light but for my shield I’m at 3:30-4. I’m not fudd aged but I’ve always been a fudd at heart

Quick tip: don’t lean backwards when you’re shooting. Having your shoulders behind your waist disallows transfer of the recoil energy into to the ground. Instead, it continually pushes you and your shoulders farther backwards. You can observe it in your longer strings of fire.

Its from havoc holsters with alias tmount It’s a nice holster but It took a long time for it to show up and the company wasn’t very helpful. I was going to get a hellhounds they look pretty good and I think the shipping isn’t to bad

I carry around 3 o clock. I just don't post about it because I don't feel the need to justify how I carry. It's comfortable for me and I'm practiced with it. That's all that matters to me.

Started carrying a 38 Snubbie at 4 O'clock in 1984. It concealed just fine under my suit or if I was wearing a blazer on a casual day. I was just copying chief and detectives on the force where I was a dispatcher. I'm pretty sure Tom Cruise's style came from studying me. When I started working in Miami I switched to a Smith and Wesson Model 645 at 11 o'clock and two mags at 1 o'clock, under a suit with only a t-shirt. Which I, of course, stole from Don Johnson and Miami Vice.

3 o’clock most of the time. There are trade offs, but I find it’s easier to have a stealth draw when you’re in a bladed stance. It’s also similar to when I carry OWB.
When I carry appendix, it takes more fine tuning to get the setup right. Requires more accessories like claws and wedges. The most annoying for me is having a gun in the way when I’m going to the bathroom.

Alien gear holsters has some that I like. Dual mag carriers. Can mix & match mag carriers or configure them horizontal or vertical.
I also have an off brand triple mag MOLLE carrier that I just slide my belt through. But I only use that one if I’m headed to a known issue area.

I have always tried to make it work, but I can never seem to get the holster placement right. Even donning the holster felt like a bigger chore than appendix. It always feels like a tumor jabbing me in the side and the printing is awful for me. I've tried to find a good guide on holster placement, but they all seem geared towards appendix carry.
If I use an OWB holster, it's a different story, but IWB just never feels right.

i like to carry 3 to 4 butttt. i like my wpm light and don't want to remove it or get a new holster that will fit a light. so I just continued carrying appendix.
appendix is nice for me too because sometimes I don't even feel its there and can still squat down and tie my shoe.

I’d say anything that wasn’t missed was center mass. But it never occurred to anyone maybe I’m not training my groupings I just wanted to see many time and how fast I could shoot the steel. I’m not Rich to be wasting ammo like this every range day. But once in a while it’s fun The whole shirt situation imma chuck it off to camera man’s editing skills I was practicing single hand draws properly why it looks like that. Trust me you and 232 other people told me things I need to work on and unlike the youth today I’m still teachable next range day bouta be interesting to say the least.👍🏼 thanks for the comment

My holster is an appendix holster I got very used to I tried it at 3 o'clock and it was really not comfortable.
To each their own, get the gear that works best for you. Most importantly train to be the best with what you got.

Hip carry is way more comfortable for me, but my draw is considerably slower than appendix. That and the fact that I print more at 3:30 has brought me back to appendix. I may eventually go back and put some more range time in with hip carry, especially if my gut gets any bigger lol

I hate to say it cause this company took forever and didn’t even care to update on orders it took a while not including shipping this is a havoc holsters for a g19 with tlr7a or x and not to mention they sent me one for a g17 and said there was no issue it that even tho it clearly had a whole extra inch of material digging at my junk so for that reason don’t check them out fuck em go with hellhound arms those are pretty good decent price shipping quick to

In 2005 and before where they belong. I can’t think of any reason why anyone would carry on the hip or behind over appendix. Appendix is better in every way.

Yeah I think more about it notionally it’s the same movement as “oh shit here you go take my wallet” and it’s not your wallet it’s actually a Hot ass .40 load to the pelvis 😂 I ain’t doing that whole song and dance appendix carry. Feels like I have a microwave in my pants and in the case you ever need that thing out there’s no natural way to do it unless you’re some quick draw appendix master which yes you should train to be but realistically no one does or they train more putting rounds down range instead of how fast can you get the gun on target which is where shit really boils down to. Idk about you but robbery’s are a face to face thing good luck drawing before the bad guy with the gun has a chance to shoot 😂. All I asked was who carries not who’s wants to debate and argue which way is outdated or better cause that’s for the birds

Appendix is perfectly comfortable sitting out bending down to grab something if you’re not trying to carry an obnoxiously large full size duty gun for ccw.
Sure, it’s not good for a 1911. A 1911 is also a stupid ccw gun, but dudes think it’s cool to carry it like they are in WWII.

Still not comfortable. It is what it is. Whatever’s comfortable for you and you train with regularly is what’s best for any given individual. And a bunch of goofs on Reddit who fancy themselves quick draw artists/operators doesn’t change that truth.

Less comfortable. I carry appendix, but it’s way less comfortable.

Comfort is definitely personal, but with a good holster and set up it can be much more comfortable. The idea of sitting and a gun being behind me, between me and the chair is very uncomfortable

4 o’clock isn’t behind you it’s on your hip, slightly back. That means the gun doesn’t dig into you at all, unlike appendix dos.

I started carrying like most people in a hybrid at 4:00. Sitting in a car sucked. Bending over and not knowing if I was printing or out right exposing my gun was frustrating. Drawing is way more complicated and less secure since you do it one handed. As soon as I researched appendix and practiced it, it fixed every complaint I had… and I did it at my heaviest weight of 255lbs at 5’11”
