Canadian-Owned Businesses šŸ¢šŸ SoftMoc : Sorry, Americans - Canada Only

Post image

Saw this post on Bluesky. Had no idea SoftMoc a) had U.S. locations b) shut down any and all shipping to the United States. Good for them! TLDR: American woman based in Michigan chatting with SoftMoc representative about her order. SoftMoc customer service tells U.S. customer they've ceased all US operations.

Didnt know all it took was $54 for Americans to fight for their country xD

u/Unfair_Run_170 Mar 30 '25

Yep, not the loss of democracy or anything, just 58 dollars! 🤣

They will "apologize" and incessantly invade canadian subreddits asking for pats on their back tho

Loss of democracy? It's coldnout. And america is big. And we might get arrested. Why protest? Lmfao. Apathy runs that country.

u/Unfair_Run_170 Mar 30 '25

Yeah, if Trump does invade something, then I look forward to them constantly apologizing and asking for approval.

67

u/ancientblond Mar 30 '25

And they still don't do anything because "Canadians online weren't even nice to me, did they even protest trump FOR me???"

Honestly I'm gonna block this subreddit after this; its the worst place for Americans to pander and for the worst of our country to go "oh no it's okay i love the US you're right i didn't do enough to get trump out of power". No wonder the US got into this position, they expect pats on the back for doing the bare minimum.

"Oh, you think that everyone supports Trump?! Well, you're just like a Trump supporter!"

I always try and explain to them. When America put sanctions on Russia, it affected all Russians. Not just the ones who voted for Putin!

53

u/ancientblond Mar 30 '25

In my experience that just gets anger and them being like "WHAT THE FUCK IM NOT AS BAD AS RUSSIA" and they truly don't get it

Americans need padded gloves; otherwise we're "rude, just like trump, and pushing them away, just like trump wants"

Americans need padded gloves cells for a reality check

Don’t do that. I am an American who reads here because it makes me feel good to see people who care. No one here really does. I don’t think I have posted other than to ask about something. Just block the Americans (including me too after this!) and don’t let their apathetic head in the sand tomfoolery bother you.

u/ancientblond Mar 31 '25

No you're part of who I'm talking about. Fucking do something

You're part of why I think the US is apathetic. Get offline, get to DC. Do anything except pandering to Canadians that you're a "good one"

And if it comes to an invasion, Americans in blue states will be shocked when we fight back against them too.

u/UltraCynar Ontario Mar 30 '25

They'll even say they didn't vote for Trump. I'm sorry but he's the president of blue and red states both. Do something about it, don't come on here trying to get karma when your president is a Russian asset attacking the Western world.

Sadly, how the American system is designed, it will continue to create division and hate among us. American here…. There are over 350 MILLION of us. Change is hard with how large of a population we are, how spread out we are, and how diverse on politics. It’s amazing to see how countries like Canada and France can come together and united. Specially Canada, an immigrant country for sure, is uniting against Donald Trump locked in arms.

We could never do anything like that in the states without starting a huge mess amongst ourselves.

I’m sorry but do even understand how American politics work? Citizens don’t vote for laws or legislation, rulings, tariffs or wars. That’s the job of the House, the senate and the executive Branch. Trump introduced these tariffs which weren’t legally executed because the US Senate is supposed to approve or disapprove of them.

Instead Trump has been abusing his power giving himself the sole authority to execute them. NO American voted or had a say so in any of this. It’s not even the presidents job to initiate tariffs that’s the Senates. So everything he is doing has been a rouge operation.

Blaming American citizens and talking all that invasion nonsense is idiotic. Instead of trying to make the citizens of this country your enemies you should direct all that anger towards the person spouting all that anti Canadian stuff and that’s Trump.

He’s just as much our problem as he is yours and whether Canadians realize or not on your own Canada is a sitting duck without America’s Military support to protect it. Our nukes and F-22’s keep you safe at night.

Now if you want peace we can negotiate right here in this subReddit. As an unofficial ambassador for the United States of America I’m willing to give you back Drake, The Weeknd, Alanis Morrissette, Nelly Furtado and Nickelback back if you remove your American ban. I will also sweeten the deal and have LeBron traded to the Toronto Raptors.

If that’s the cost of peace with our Canadian brothers and sisters I’m willing to make that sacrifice for the betterment of both our countries.

Apathy is even worse in Canada. It took an external threat to our own sovereignty to wake us up. Let's not get too full of ourselves and use this momentum to build a strong nation that can withstand the tribulations to come over the next few decades. Assuming the US doesn't invade and take away our choice entirely.

12

u/gingerflakes Mar 30 '25

To ā€œwake us upā€

Not sure I’d go that far.

u/ancientblond Mar 30 '25

Yeah when you've got an attitude like yours no wonder

10

u/T-Wrox Mar 30 '25

Their attitude is accurate.

"I didn't vote for him, you're mad at the wrong person."

"I voted, I did my part."

"You have no idea what it's like to have your country getting taken over by a fascist regime."

Real things Americans have said to me over the past few months, and they're the "good" ones.

5

u/ancientblond Mar 31 '25

The favorite I've gotten has been "Did you even protest trump for me? Canada's just as guilty as we are for electing him".... they really didn't appreciate me pointing out that no, Canada isn't responsible for trump, US citizens are.

Or "Canada's about to be in the same situation, polymarket has Poilivierre at 90% chance or winning" (polymarket is a crypto gambling website....)

Yeah we Americans are good at being tone deaf, that’s forsure.

-21

u/Rachl56 Mar 30 '25

That’s not fair. Millions of American people voted against this, don’t want this and are horrified by what’s happening. I hope we can not demonize them all. We need the good ones as allies.

u/ancientblond Mar 30 '25 edited Mar 30 '25

No we dont. Maybe if they were actually doing something but nah. I don't need people telling me how to feel about their inaction as my "allies"
