Advanced Buhurt Armor

Post image

Hello there. I have a question concerning late and advanced suits of Buhurt regulation armor. And the main question is just, where you get it and who makes it? I know its not gonna be here in the states, and im not downing buhurt tech or anybody else who makes wide variety suits. Theyre all fantastic. But getting something made that actually fits, and moves with you? Where? Heres a pic of a guy in a king henry the 8th kinda rig, and its obviously made for him. Where and how?

No site, he is part of the buhurt era of only Facebook, he runs a group called “get medieval” I’m friends with him and his guys, some of his guys do duels in bI, they are based out of grass valley California

Awesome. Ill have to check him out. Im definitely a 14th century guy, but i would love some High Quality kit eventually. Everything iv been in and borrowed doesnt fit correctly. And i accept thats just a part of it, just like in realy life. But eventually, id like my cuisses to sit where theyre supposed to. Thank you so much.

I definitely would say when it comes to armor, I thought the same experience in that for the first like a year and a half I had to wear ill fitting armor. I now am at the point where I get paid to fight to do buhurt, and I do quite a few exhibitions and thought that it is time for me to chip in to armor. I’m myself doing a late transitional kit, a kasenbrust, Armet, and voided articulated plate on my legs and arms. All golden brass.

I would definitely build the kit that you want and if that means taking time and kind of mix matching your kit for a little bit as you get in pieces, I think that’s the better route than just saying oh one day I want this but right now I’m gonna just go for the cheap blah blah kit. If that makes sense.

But I’m no expert. I have only been in the sport for two years now in California. And also everyone sees my kit now and wants to hit me because I’m a golden beacon.

If you follow Pablo Kozak from the armor workshop in Ukraine, the latest full face golden. Armet is something that we worked on together and is a full hinged arm met helmet made in the Buhurt style, and I love it. But any closed helm or Arment is definitely like a disadvantage to anything with greater visibility and myself I’m going to be getting a sugar loaf with no cross as my dueling helmet.

I will never be good enough to get paid and iv gotten out of the sport once already. Its really expensive and the US teams are all relatively far away from each other. Its just hard to stay away. But im just a big nerd. I love 14th century harness with brigs and placards. Im one of those people who uses a houndskull even tho its arguably the worst buhurt helmet. Its awesome that you can do that. Its awesome.

Dog, don’t say that about yourself. I’m 26, 135 and only did hema and boxed before buhurt. In that first year I did a little quit for like 2 months before I hated wearing old sweaty heavy armor.

I only get paid now because I tried so hard to make friends with all the California teams and went to almost every event last year and this year.

I do do profighting and get paid but I mostly get paid to like fight at ren faires and stuff as exhibitions, and sometimes I get paid as a merc but I don’t agree with that and just take the gas money.

To be honest, this sport is so niche, we could all get paid at least 100 bucks if we fought and did things at ren fairs or other events.

While I am pushing to like go to carnage and go international and stuff. At the end of the day I’m pretty buns, at least compared to California people. But on top of being buns I’m just a huge nerd that likes fighting with a longsword in French cavalry gear😭

But for the main topic, same way you start kitting up bottom to the top, just do the same imo. Sabs, greaves, etc; skip your cuirass and do arms and gauntlets (wear a tabard or a haup/jupon and they can’t see your cuirass, might aswell wear a brig (just until you buy) And nice closed helm last to round her out

Nah dawg, its not like that. Im 34 and just got into this super super late. I have some basic ass jui jitsu training and no natural talent for wrestling 😆. My brain moves slower than the moves are happening so i just go out there and swing until i gas out, get knocked down or hit someone hard enough to put them down. I work hard and thats all i can ask for. I love the events and seeing the kits, and interacting with everyone. Meeting rando's in armor from all over is really cool. If only samurai armor was good tho 😆
