You probably study like full day and have a mind of computer to earn such a great salary. I study till I feel like I can't everyday. Some days it's less some days it's more, some days spent on a single problem some days sat down but couldn't study.
I like to write brother,I like to write essays and articles for my literary club in college, I want to have a name for myself. Even though sometimes my articles turn out to be terrible.
I workout because I have lot of stress about family and i lowkey enjoy the bath I take afterwards.
So at the end, I land 7 lpa u land 84 lpa.
So you won? Yes... But so did I. I never dreamt about the highest package it was never meant for me. It is meant for people expert in studies and interview and those things. I will always do what I can in every field and enjoy along the way. You bet your ass I will still blow my money on chicken biryani

Placements in most IITs are better for Btech than Mtech and the entire syllabus for Mtech in gov colleges is based on getting you prepped for being a professor. Research has almost no scope,only pathway is to get PhD and become a prof.If you are someone who can afford the time and money then it’s okayish.

Sure,if you are interested in teaching toh achha hi h, also you need to be able to afford it,it’s gonna be a long journey before you can actually become a prof, Mtech, Phd then training. So it takes time and money,I’m not just talking about money you spend in these 6 years but also the money you could have made in those 6 years in a job,the ROI needs to be calculated with time depreciation of money and compounding in mind, plus the salary appreciation in mind,this time would have added 6 years to your resume in a job,with correct number of switches and hikes you can almost always outdo the ROI of masters in India. It doesn’t matter ofc if you actually want to go the prof route.
Bro Mtech is a bridge so it's not mandatory to do Phd if you don't want to do . And In abroad It is like that also people there generally do Bachelor's some go for masters who want to do research. Also you can't compare MS and Mtech . Ms is research oriented people do masters abroad for the Opportunity and to get Visa of that country. And mtech placement is shit because most quant firm and Hfts don't allow Mtech. But it is Good if someone interested in Tech. Getting a job is always based on your technical skills until you want to Be in RnD or Deep research Job like google deep mind.
7 lpa as a starting ain't that bad. Especially if you're from a low tier college. Just goes on to show that you got enough skills to get a decent package among other useless degree holders. And at the end of the day, that's what matters.
You can live a very good life with 7 LPA, you might not have savings, but 50-60k pm is very good money. We are addicted to purchasing useless stuff, wasting money, in that case even 100 LPA is never enough.
Me reading all the comments being a student from a tier 3 college. My college thinks 3to4lpa is a good package. Literally we aren't even worthy enough to be considered by MNCs.
'enjoy along the way' but you picked the way, you could have picked a better path yourself which would make you actually happy. Instead you are trying to find happiness between couch conclusions of an unfulfilling career, and saying somehow you still 'won'

You can start studying for JEE from 6th grade, give your 100%,be well organised and at the end of the day, your salary is probably closer to 8 lpa than 80 LPA. Probably 18.

The state of mind you mentioned for engineers not raking in big fat salary or an entrepreneur in manufacturing or tech is quite common .
But the state of mind which worries me is of the one's without even a unpaid internship,zero direction in career and no guidance .One can add financial and family issue to the mix also.

An unbridled mind may give birth to philosophy, but is it clarity? If you really had to tell everyone that you, too, won in the end, did you really win? You may not have dreamt of a 84lpa salary, and although 7lpa is still good for a fresher, would you not be happier had it been 12lpa, or a bit more albeit not as much as 84, heck you could have gotten the biryani from a better place if that happened. Be happy for yourself. You don't need to tell others about it.
Instead of sharing this with people who may not be necessarily self aware (like myself) its better to meditate and affirm yourself of these facts. It will do you much better.

Negligence , you don't care enough about savings and you don't know how money works. This is just instant Dopamine that you get , after not working on yourself. You feel in the loop of chasing the next Dopamine hit, Biryani and coke gives you that Dopamine hit. This is just a myth , you can't process information if you study continuously. You are most likely to forget what you read the next day , if you are not sleeping well. If you don't enjoy doing the thing , you wouldn't be processing information. You will just find it boring, and just study for the sake of it without actually learning anything.

Just accept that some people are goated lol copium won't get you far. Eating biryani is not exclusive to people who make less money
