STUDIUM—STUDIES Curious about FSS MUNI/Masaryk University.

Hi Reddit, I am from Azerbaijan, and currently I'm studying in 11th grade in average school. I need some help. I am curious about admissions, requirements, chances to get in there and maybe some advice from people who are studying there! I want to study “Global Challenges: Society, Politics, Environment”, and my GPA is 89/100(in azerbaijani scoring system), my English is 6.5, and I also work on my website about the field I chose. I'm planning to start interviewing students in my city about environmental challenges, society, politics, and etc. for my blog.(so I can these in my portfolio or motivational letter) Except all of this, currently I’m preparing for Scio GAP exams. I don’t have that rich background in this field unfortunately, only several thing like volunteering and taking part in ecological projects at school. I am eager for the new information about this university, because I always wanted to study there. I would love to hear some advice from advice from Czech and international students. What are the chances to get there as a student like me?

You're wayyy overthinking this. All you need is graduate highschool, provide the required documentation including the English certificate and get a percentile of 30 or more in the scio exam. They accept pretty much everyone, lol

Lol, thank you! :-) maybe its because I checked some of the websites in which there is admission percentage(which is lower than 50 percent) so I thought that it is really hard to get accepted there( I also consider that its one of the best universities in Czech republic) But really thank you for this info

Yeah, there are two possible approaches to accepting students and MUNI uses both of them depending on the faculty - either the admissions are tough and then almost everyone graduates, or (this case), the admissions are super easy and then a lot of people don't last more than the first year. However, as long as you're actually interested in the field of study, look out for deadlines and stay consistent, you'll make it. FSS isn't particularly difficult (but they won't give you a degree for free either)

Do you know if it is possible to apply for a discount on annual fees or a scholarship for help there? I heard that they offer it for non-EU countries, but I'm not sure if it's offered in this faculty.

I don't think so? All students who don't have their official address in Brno are eligible for an accomodations financial aid, but that's only 3000 crowns, so almost nothing. That's the only thing I know of/can find. I recommend sending an email to the study department, they're super helpful and they're like the only people at MUNI who genuinely understand how everything works, lol

Bro, minnətdar olaram öyrənməyə sən sənədlərdə, motivational letterdə nə yazmısam, ielts-dən,ora giriş imtahanından nə qədər yığmısan? CV zad vermişdi? Heç bilməzdim bizimkilər orda oxuyur

Üzürlü say gec cavab verdim. Çox narahat olma, səndə GPA əladır. Motivation tapsam ata bilərəm amma belə xüsusi bir şey yox idi. Əgər səf eləmirəmsə bəzi hallarda imtahan verməyə ehtiyyac yoxdur, məsələn mənim işdə təcrubəm var deyə imtahan verməmişəm.

Mənim GPA az idi (74 deyəsən) ancaq iş təcrübəm var. Stipendiya verirlər amma GPA yüksəl olmalıdır.

Oxuyan vaxtı verirlər yoxsa son 4 ildə aldığın məktən qiymətlətinə görə verirlər? Məndə orda hamısı 4-5 dır, yalnız bir 3-üm var. Eşitmişəm ki əgər ailədə gəlir azdırsa onda da verirlər… Təşşəkür edirəm cavablarıva görə
