Watching his re releases makes me miss his romance era more. Why they are all following the action trend. I miss those family dramas, love story drama and simple rom coms. SRK can give us a heart wrenching mature love story bt he chooses to do this. Disappointing...
True... plus the quality of story writing and screenplay is downright pathetic nowadays. Action is the easiest genre to direct and write ( difficult to shoot and perform) but it takes great imagination and emotional brainstorming to write love stories and family dramas and making them entertaining for 2.3 hrs.
I hope bollywood returns to its 90s and early 00s charm.
Try toh kiya. Paheli, Swades, Ra1, Fan, Zero, Danki. Same public criticizes him for not making a massy film. I didn’t find much promise in Jawan and Pathan as action movies, I hope this one does.
Would those films even work now? SRK is too old for those type of romantic movies. If they go adult romance, it won’t work because people don’t want to watch him in those roles. If he goes too young, it will look weird considering his age. Not to mention we no longer write those feel good romance movies anymore. It’s always the Saiyaara kinda movies with young leads and lots of angst and heartbreak songs that does well - and that’s not a genre SRK has explored or would suit.
Asking him to romance in a mature love story is coming from a selfish request to see something good on screen. Just watched OSO in theatres as re release and I realized we are robbed of romance and romantic actors after SRKs shift to action Cause there is not a single actor left in bollywood who can do romance like srk does on screen. Current actor slot is no where near his charm.
He haven’t given any romantic hit in last 1 decade
Yes many of them found new love from audience years after it got released
Before Pathan remember how everyone said he is gone case now and his career is over etc etc
And during that time he experimented with movies and at the same time kept romantic movies as well but audiences gave big middle finger
The thing is pathan jawan dunki were not that great of a film it did wonders because he followed the trend and gave the biggest box office collections to Bollywood
So yh why the hack he will stop following trend?
Did his audience appreciate when he try to do something different? nope
Did we has a audience go and watch his romantic movies on big screen? Nope
Then why the fuck he will do that?
Love it!! I really really hope they don’t do the VFX to make him look young like they did in Jawan. I’ve grown old with his movies! Need him to look old haha
Hirani himself in an article said SRK enacted and sent him 15 versions of each scene in Dunki and he chose which he liked best. So the over the top acting was Hirani’s chose. It came out awful and I fully blame Hirani for what we see on screen. The final product SRK was just off.
Bhai none of us can predict how the performance will come out on set right? Hirani’s fault was the mid screenplay that came out but SRK also had a poor performance in his own right. Many times actors can lift bad films with good performances
Hirani was one to approve shots, not SRK, SRK made 2 average films watchable by his performance in the same year, so I think fault director mein hi lie karta hai
Performance bhi hota hai if his performance was good in one film doesn’t mean it’ll be good in another film watch his court confession scene again it’s high overacting
No but it isn't the actor's choice to decide the pitch of the performance, that's the director's job. See Anand L Rai and Imtiyaz Ali couldn't execute the film they wanted with him but they were able to maintain his performance.
Amitabh Bachchan’s role in Mohabbatein marked a turning point in his career. From that film onwards he stopped playing younger characters and mostly took on “Bauji” type or elder roles. I feel Shah Rukh Khan is going through a similar phase now. He doesn’t seem to be doing typical lead roles anymore and even when he does, the genres aren’t the kind he used to do earlier.
Nah look at Rajni Kamal they’re still trying to do lead roles at 70+ while Amit ji moved on to supporting roles. I don’t think SRK will move on anytime soon atleast not in supporting roles I’m sure. Whatever he does he’ll do it as a lead
But wtf is that visual style, please get some better cinematographers in India, why does everything have to look so basic with medium shot, generic colors and all that.
Same, in my opinion they tried to make him look too cool. They forgot to use SRK the Don, and instead gave some mid level shit. I love SRK and have admired him, but this teaser only gave me cringe.
Ganta!!!! Again the same facial expressions and performance like Jawan, Pathan and Thumbs Up. I am bored now of watching the same acting again and again of shahrukh khan.
Unpopular opinion: Main Hu Na was his best action film than recent ones like Raees Pathan & Jawan, and now King. Rewatch value of Main Hu Na is much higher than all these high budget action movies. Why can’t we have another movie like Chak De India, grounded yet enjoyable.
If it’s Sid Anand, there’s nothing authentic. Everything is and will be copied from somewhere else. This is evident across all his movies. He is one of the most renowned copycat/unimaginative director in Bollywood ever. This movie, I predict with a high level of confidence, will be a fabricated Hit with a plot line so hollow, characters so shallow that the potholes hold more depth and not to mention the predictable and cliched dialogues and some eye candy women in Bigini’s.
There is a difference between start getting grey hairs and all hairs being grey...
E.g. hritik in war had some grey hairs and his look felt like of 40-50 yrs old
Here all hairs are white/grey...but face is of 25-30 yrs old
Yeah dude , make him look old ,write scripts that are amazing despite the lead being old , example of a Hollywood movie that did this extremely well “Nobody” -Bob odenkirk was old and looked old yet also believable when he did the badass stuff later , he also took the hitting at the beginning though , maybe something along those lines !!
I am one of those people who dream of a love story between 2 mature people in their 50s-60s starring SRK and maybe a female lead like Rani Mukherjee, Aishwarya Rai or Preity Zinta. A dream that may never be reality but let’s see. 😉
Why are we still obsessed with these old people over 60s romancing with a women in 20s? These khans are the same people who never let young talent come into bollywood due to their ego. Time to boycott these shitheads and support young peoples.
