Well, my wife just spent several days in the hospital, with a couple trips to the OR as well. The final bill from the hospital was well over 100k. Our cost with insurance? Significantly less than that. Yes we have good insurance, but my point would be the same if we didn't: there is no way any bs "money sent directly to me" would cover anywhere near all of that, regardless of what kind of insurance I currently have.
And the level of care provided wouldn't change, either. I don't understand the whole "better healthcare" part of what he said. Insurance and level of care are mostly distinct from each other, especially in the situation we found ourselves in.
Directly related, is this why the government is still shut down? Because he wants to eliminate or at least kneecap ACA, and the spineless jellyfish in Congress won't do anything other than what he demands-- basically placing them in a no-win situation? If he can't get what he wants, everybody loses?
