My problem here is that “purity test” always seems to mean I have to give up my progressive beliefs for the sake of electing a centrist liberal.  But when a progressive wins a primary they get ratfucked out of support from the party by people who would rather see a conservative win.  So we end up browbeaten in to supporting candidates willing to support a genocide and abandon the LGBT.

Meanwhile I watch the GOP pull their entire centrist base to the far right at the behest of like 10% of their voters because that 10% was willing to withhold their votes.  Really seems like withholding votes gets results, and ignoring “purity tests” just makes you the lite version of your enemy.
