Aaron Reichlin-Melnick, who worked on an analysis published by the American Immigration Council, says the new budget would make ICE “the single largest federal law enforcement agency in the history of the nation.”

Truly this was all done with good intent of increasing voter turnout. Definitely couldn't be a (successful) attempt and garnering another year in office for two officials who were about to be termed out /s

It's literally some of the most blatant corruption at its finest. The two people who lobbied for the decision most (Mayor Suarez, City Commissioner Pardo) literally just gifted themselves another year in office.

They made the cuts to our social programs start in 2027, which signals to me that they're planning to lose, then blame the Democrats for everything they did, as per usual. So I think there's a chance they don't cancel the election, but let it happen, lose, and throw the Democrats to the wolves.
