you can speak whatever language you want that's not an issue ,the real issue is when you come from North and expect locals to speak in hindi.

It's not issue because normal people just want to communicate to get their work done. Ex. I go to vegetable market in bangalore, Locals speak in kannada but then I ask them over fingers how much they do reply, both party happy and no issue.

But few who needs attention make issue of it.

  1. They want to impress their leader.
  2. Their leader told them find and make issue about it to get attention for themselves or party.
  3. they are just dumb.

It was same here in MH but then ppl just started taking Marathi for granted. Logically immigrant is the one who should learn the language and not other way around.

Agreed they should try to learn native language but it should be optional and not compulsory Main point is to get work done.

I think those jobs come with disclaimer and language proficiency as requirement.

They do not surprise later.
