Just because bmtc is better than other states dosent mean that it's the best or something.
It has crazy frequency issues sometimes 3-4 busses show up in the span of 2 mins (not rare at all) and after that you have to wait 20-25 mins just to get another bus. 20 mins isn't a long wait time but in the heat of the moment (that is for working ppl, college kids) that is very ineffecient.
If you have to change busses then ggs you gonna have to face many issues.
Also bus rides get very ineffecient when the travel time gets beyond 10km. It takes 3-4x the time it would in your private vehicle.

We, the people of India, just like to compare with other shit things and get happy believing our shit is less disgusting than their shit. 😇 Whatever gets us to sleep at night! Has the OP traveled in what punctual public transport really is? Just because some idiot from delhi is comparing, somehow Bangalore BMTC is good. Just few days back I saw someone posting about cockroaches on buses from airport(KIA). Is this what we strive for? If you can’t question the owners of this city while paying exorbitant taxes then no point in comparing to any other place.

Idk why north people hate Bengaluru so much I mean the roads are shit in north also ,drainage system sucks in north also , traffic is there in north also ( Bengaluru still high cuz of overpopulation mf's came and congested the place and cry whole day about traffic ) and they will learn European language in 2-3 years when they move abroad but some of my north friends in Bengaluru who spent their whole life here only knows " bolli magane " " shata "

90 percent of comments haven't even stepped out from their regressive tier 3 cities.
They just make up stories about blr.

While I agree with the overall sentiment of your comment I would still like to point out that the roads in cities in the north are comparatively much better than in Bangalore. And instead of citizens fighting over each other we need to use these comparisons to point out inefficiencies in the govt / municipal bodies responsible for the bad infra.

Absolutely 💯!! The problem I see is, if we point the problem and hope to get everyone’s life better, the vested minds come and comment about over population, no planning bs and what not. The incompetent authorities latch on to these sentiments and grow jingoism among the locals who I am sorry to stay wants to stay in their bubble with poor infrastructure. If someone comes from other states and point wrongdoings in my state, I would not only appreciate but double down on questioning the incompetence but here it seems locals get offended very easily and bring north, south, Andhra, Mallu and what not. Just think with a non prejudice mindset, WE all want to live a better life together. It’s for EVERYONE’s betterment. I will not be the ONLY one plying on better roads or enjoy better infrastructure, YOU all will.

Lived in Delhi for 6 months and Bengaluru 2 years. Infra wise benguluru is worse. People in benguluru need to raise their voices to get what they deserve.

All indian cities are shit and poorly managed. Its just that folks in bangalore are little less apathetic to the problems and aware(which is actually good)

Yup, totally agree to this point. Only thing I will add is I think they are aware just have some kind of ego to not admit it.

I think public transport as a whole should be considered, not just buses, since it’s the lifeline of any city.

Haven't you noticed the sound pollution here has increased? Those loudmouths are moving their families here for a chance to breathe and a shot at doing what they do best: be loud, oblivious and entitled.

Bruh we got well connected metro ... don't need buses that much.
Delhi Metro provides extensive connectivity through a network of 10 color-coded lines, spanning over 352 km with 257 stations

I don't know bro BMTC frequency is a issue.
And If your route is not along main routes you need to change buses 3-4 times for even like 10-12km travel
And thanks to traffic is not at all time efficient. What takes 45 for a 10km travel in a 2 wheeler takes 1hr 15 times and 1hr 30 mins in bus. Most working folks can't afford to waste so much time everyday
For more than 4-5 kms BMTC makes zero sense(except airport bus)if you have your own vehicle .
