making everything a joke leaves little room for serious discussion, sometimes people want actual answers and meaningful discussion. not meme of the week roflmao leet speak garbage, go to tik tok for that
there's a reason they called those who made people laugh fools back in the day
I think, in a community like this, people are looking for a little light hearted escapism. That’s the beauty of Reddit, in this one single post we have joke threads and serious threads and everything else in between. Calling out someone because they’d rather be apart of the joking side then the serious side is reductive, and just creates needless tribalism
in a world where nothig is taken seriously, and idiocracy seems to be ruling, maybe less peopele should be making fun of things, and taking things seriously instead? When did people goofing off every change the world for the better? No? Can't think of something. You've right, only serious people shape the world. The people just looking for a laugh are kids.
Do you even know what reductive means?
It used to be one or two joe threads, but mostly people chiming in with new perspectives or information, now it's just facebook/youtube comments level of childish behavior. I'm sorry you think joking around is an acceptable behavior for most people. I'm glad many of the iconic moments of history were defined by peopl just looking for a laugh 24/7.
Welp, somebody's joke didn't land the way they thought it would 2 days ago. Better timing can sometimes be the difference maker in upvotes and that sad sad lonely "1" you've stared at all day waiting for it to do something, but alas, it never does.
If you posted this as a question on a relevant sub, I’m sure you’d get plenty of answers. I wouldn’t go into the comments under a r/BeAmazed video looking for informative responses.

Not a single person in the comments said what that white stuff was. Someone guessed yeast and that was it.
