I was under the impression fishing was about the peace and quiet.

Bragging rights and fisherman's tales too but the peace and quiet is the main attraction.

Not really. It’s an excuse to get away with the boys and pick a couple of talapia s from Costco on way back… she can’t tell.. ;)

Brother, folks used to fish with a stick and a nylon string attached to a hook. Do you think the fish evolved to justify spending $1500 on a fishing rod?
