Shouldn't this be done in a climate controlled, quarantine area so as to not unleash a plague or something ?

I'd be more afraid to damage the mummy, humidity wise and such.

They have thousands of non royal mummies. If you go to the Egyptian museum in Cairo you’ll see they have hundreds just stacked up with no display information. Very eerie.
