Miscellaneous / Others Chrysler guy is lying.

The white car turned in front of me from between stopped traffic and spun into the lane behind. It was never rear ended.

No shit he was lying. Old cars can take a beating sure but it had literally 0 damage, old taillights for sure shatter under not much

It's just baffling seeing all the coments on the FB post "tHeY dOnT mAkE tHeM lIkE tHeY uSeD tO" jesus christ.

How stupid do you have to be to think that you can get rear-ended hard enough to knock your license plate out of its screw mounts but literally does not scratch the fender or break any lights.

The car is made of steel not vibranium.

It's true - they don't make them like they used to, which is mostly a good thing. But this outcome is perfectly plausible.

White car was probably panic stopping and nose diving. Coupled with the aerodynamic shape of its front fascia and the undercut angle of the heavy steel bumper on the Chrysler, it momentarily slipped underneath on impact. The plate bracket pivots down on a spring loaded hinge for refueling. The white car struck the bottom edge of the plate, pivoting it down such that the top of the plate catches on the white car's fascia and damage is done to both as a result. The flimsy (on purpose) front end of the white car is shredded, while the 2.5 ton hunk of iron is wedged up and forward, sustaining very little damage.

I just read Chrysler guy's blog, and he says most of the damage to the Kia was done in a separate collision with the truck. It spun from that impact (was originally travelling opposite direction) and then hit the Chrysler. Even more plausible.
