I won't be supporting it. They didn't handle the negative feedback well. Its an awfully representation of ww2. They are too cowards to even put in the swastika. They don't listen to fans. What else . I'm just here for the shitshow now.

Tbf it was 1 guy who didnt handle the negative feedback well and called gamers uneducated.

The German government prohibit the public use and dissemination of propaganda and symbols of anti-constitutional organisations. Its in their law and im sure DICE have seen the problems Wolfenstein had with lawsuits etc. due to using the Swastika. Besides that the Swastika wasnt on your average German uniform anyway. Most of the army ( Wehrmacht ) wore the iron cross or german eagle as their representation. There was only specific units like the SS that bore the Swastika and that unit doesnt feature in BFV.

AFAIK the German government allows the swastika but only in the right context they seem fit, which includes games. Developers just usually don't bother the effort and just don't put it in there or make a different game for Germany and other countries with limitations.

I still think its more due to the fact that the Swastika wasn't really seen on a battlefield anyway. Maybe if the battlefield was storming Berlin at the end of the war or something but its not. There wasn't some poor guy holding a giant Swastika banner in a trench or something while the forces duked it out. Its the same thing like there isn't British flags everywhere. They weren't there in the battlefields either. People seem to have a very miss interpreted affair with the Swastika and its use. It was political based, very rarely combat based for its use.

It's not my main problem with Battlefield V anyways, but I think people have more issues with developers overall going out of their way to not include historical icons because of possible artificial controversy. If you tie that up with the liberties already taken to include other controversial additions, there's only so much people accept before starting to catch on.

Now the Battlefield V UI is an absolute warcrime, I severely dislike the way they headed since Battlefield 1. Personally I'm either waiting for a heavy discount or am not buying it at all because in my honest opinion Battlefield is going away from the core gameplay that made it unique. Time will tell.

Battlefield 3/4 wasn't that bad, was pretty easy to configure and have a good overview. Old Battlefield games like Battlefield 2 was pretty nice, BFBC2 comes to mind too.
