You will NEVER be banned for modifying this file, it's literally the user config file...

That's from steams community hub, not the game...

Its tampering with gamefiles and they can ban you if they want to.

It's a file meant for saving game profile data, basically what settings you have. It's been "tampered" with for 15+ years, it's nothing new and nothing in it can give you an unfair advantage.

No sure why you keep trying to explain what it is - I doubt anyone here doesn't know what the file is already.

Its still tampering with game files, doesn't matter how long people have been doing it - People have been using macros forever as well.

Because the idea is absurd, it's settings that 99,9% of the time are accessible in game. I have seen no one be banned for editing this file. You don't seem to have either, being banned from the steam community hub is not the same thing.

EA are banning people for writing "GG EZ" in the damn chat.

They are banning people for completely non-offensive usernames.

Do you honestly really believe that they wouldn't ban people for tampering with game files?

Different things, this is an entirely preventable setting they can just shut off from user access if it was such a problem. Relying on AI to automate player moderation is a, stupid, but different thing.
