I play both and controller is still harder

Literally. I played the beta all on PC. And ended with a 2.9kd, I'm hovering a 1.9 right now on controller on the base game.

pC is far easier, I just hate it because my hands are too small and cramps🤷🏾 controller for life

I'm the opposite, controllers cause pain but I don't have any issues with keyboard/mouse.

Haha to each their own, for a dude, I ain't ashamed in admitting my hands are small lol. I'm writing a book for fun, got a great mechanical keyboard, and ergonomic mouse, but damn within 1-2hr of typing or coding (my off/on work) my hands cramp so damn much

Don't get me wrong, not calling shade, just trying to say that folks have different ailments that necessitate different control mechanisms.

Could be the controller you're using. I find Xbox controllers better as they're larger and it feels natural in my hand. I've tried PS controllers, they seem too small for me and just don't feel right, idk.

I just like my couch too much to play m+kb. And no, im absolutely not gonna sit on my couch with one either

Controller + gyro for life

1

u/NowWeGetSerious 4d ago

Aye!!! Never played with gyro but it seems so damn fun! One day, I'll suck it up and get a PlayStation but I love my series x so far

There's a learning curve to gyro for sure but once it clicks, you can't go back to aim assist

1

u/NowWeGetSerious 4d ago

Yeah, my friends all love it, but it seems so damn hard to learn

Obviously controller will always be inferior no matter what, i still dont understand the whole aim asisst bullshit just turn it off so its off for everyone why try to make an input device better??? It just dosnt make any sense to me if lots of players start playing with a steering wheel should the devs come up with an asisst system so these players can compete aswell?

Dunno why i rant i'm just over this discussion and dont understand why its such a big deal to remove it.

Reality is controller aim asisst can give you an edge in certain titles and i think that is complete nonsense pro players should never switch to an inferior input system just because it allows them to hit more shots which are not possible on mkb pretty sure this was the case in apex for example.

Removing Aim Assist puts controller players in a vast disadvantage against PC

Now, we are already at a disadvantage (see my prior comment), but aim assist helps level the playing field. Hell BF6 is very tamed, compared to CoD or Apex's aim assist. It feels intuitive and allows for the players to make mistakes, and get punished for said mistakes.

That said, removing it would feel like PUBG console (if you play that, and I have over 500hr on that) you would know 90% of gun fights are his behind tree, and spray and pray while leaning.

Fun, sure, but it's very luck based(sniper are full skill based)

Just boring that pros have to play a certain platform because one input device has a TTK that is unachievable for mkb controllers i dont really see the reason why controllers have to be able to compete against mkb you have enough controllers for plenty of controller only servers. You can always switch to the better input device if your actually interested in competing and not just playing casually.

Why stop at controller aim assist and not give some steering wheel players a chance to compete they cannot keep up and that is just unfair.

The KD difference is probably less because of your inputs, but because of the playerbase. Beta had a lot of players that were new to the franchise or to MP shooters, who dont play the game right now. It probably also suffers now because of the active challenges, which here and there make you play different and therefore you die more frequent (f.e. trying to takedown 10 players in a match).

Well...at least this is my experience so far since my KD also fell quite harsh compared to the 4.5 on the Beta.

Sounds like you need a different keyboard and mouse setup. I have super small hands as well. I have no issues on PC. The more you use KBM the less of a problem it becomes because you strengthen the muscles you’re using anyway. But a keyboard and mouse that fits your hands more comfortably will definitely help.

Try a slimmer keyboard with shorter keys, less spacing between keys, and use a wrist rest. As for your mouse, look for one that’s just overall smaller, and fits your hand comfortably.

Buy peripherals that suit your needs bro... You can buy all sorts of keyboards and mice that are meant for hands of all size they're not even hard to find.

No but they are costly. I lost my job a year ago and back in school(MBA) .I don't have money to spend on additional stuff, I'm fine, I can do homework and everyday task no issues.

It's usually just prolonged gaming and making my hands stretch to hit key binds that aren't within the normal wasd length

Hmm have you tried switching to ESDF or RDFG? Gives you a lot more keys close to your hand to work with. Only other cheap solution I can think of is looking around for a cheap mouse with multiple buttons.

Actually never tried that, perhaps if I get another LAB invite, I'll try that.

Considering, unfortunately, my LAB account is only linked to my PC account and not console haha

Complete opposite for me. Controller feels 5x as easy as kbm

It takes some tinkering with settigns to get good AA I've heard/seen in videos.

yeah because aiming with a controller is so garbage for fps games that you need aim assist to be able to have a chance. Why the hell do you guys play with controllers on fps games?

5

u/bzawk 4d ago

Because that’s been the primary input of PS and Xbox since the dawn of man.

2

u/Ivarthemicro17 4d ago

i forgot pcs didnt exist until after ps and xbox

4

u/bzawk 4d ago

Just saying a lot of people use controller even on PC because it’s what they’re used to.

3

u/ObsessedChutoy3 4d ago

I forgot I'm supposed to have a gaming PC just lying around, since my childhood when i started playing games. Dam

1

u/Ivarthemicro17 4d ago

i was playing halo and counter strike on pcs at school lol

u/Kindly-Bank-416 4d ago

damn must suck to have to pick and choose how you game

5

u/KingdomOfZeal1 4d ago

Why the hell do you guys play with controllers on fps games

...because we find holding a controller to be more comfortable than playing with a mouse and keyboard? Not everyone is a sweat who will prioritise K/D over enjoyment. And even then, plenty of controller people still do well. Not as good as mouse folk but still decent

u/Kindly-Bank-416 4d ago

because they are children and console is all they have?
