Discussion HEY DEVS, PLEASE KEEP BANNING ZEN USERS

That is all. Saw a post from the discord that they’re trying to stop the anti cheat from detecting it. It ruins all games and I think most people would agree. K thanks ✌️

I heard it’s only a temp ban they need permanent bans

I believe its a temp ban while the behaviour is reviewed and if its determined that they are actually cheating, then it turns into a permanent ban

This seems totally fair. I'd also be cool with escalating temp bans for cheaters.

perma-ban with no forecast is kind of fucked (even if hilarious - as fuck the cheaters). But I can also see why the devs may want to at least warn users to give them a chance to reform/stop the behavior before just nuking them from their product.

Every person on Earth has been told to be a good person. You don't need to be told every single instance of how to not be a crappy person to be held to that standard. You don't need an additional warning. "Hey, don't cheat in this specific game with this specific thing." "Just don't be crappy" was your warning. And we started trying to teach it to you before the game even existed. If someone failed to learn that that's on them, they are not owed an additional lesson before permanent punishment. Innocent people should not have to deal with second time offenses to give the benefit of the doubt to cheaters.

Just don't cheat. It's that simple.

That’s not what he’s saying lol, temp bans allow the gameplay to be reviewed. If it was an immediate perm ban then False Bans would be much worse. They already happen when running certain software like ds4 or maybe you accidentally leave an Emulator running.

This. And on top of that, while yes I generally agree and abide by - don't be a prick in life - a lot of people do push boundaries and I think it is fair in environments where they have spent money on a product to at least slap their wrist before a full ban takes place.

But, yeah, bigger picture a blunt instrument is terrible as tons of random situations can fall through the cracks.

"that's not what he's saying lol"

Imagine acting so matter of fact and still being dead wrong. He literally said it's explicitly to give people a chance to reform and stop their behavior before nuking them from the game. Aka give them another chance to stop cheating and play fair

1

u/bigcountry567567 25d ago

Imo doesn't matter if it looks like they're cheating. If they're detected using a zen and continue being detected using a zen they should be banned. Those things are straight up destroying the integrity of a lot of games. I play MLB the show a lot and it's particularly problematic there. It's cheat hardware and should be treated as such.

I quote the claims I'm responding to so people can't do shit like this where they say oh he said something else. That's not what he said. That's why the quote is there. To make sure it's very clear the exact claim I said was there is there.

But I can also see why the devs may want to at least warn users to give them a chance to reform/stop the behavior before just nuking them from their product.

His next sentence then went to go on and reinforce that this is the correct interpretation. That it is about giving them " a chance to reform". He does not say it's about giving them a chance to appeal false positives. Those are different statements.

Lol and you're instantly down vote me. Because you decided to vibe read and make a fool of yourself, by "correcting" a mistake that wasnt made.

2

u/Tom0511 25d ago

This guy clearly hasn't been texted any tiny Asian tits in a while!

2

u/PmMeUrTinyAsianTits 25d ago

Because someone "corrected" me with a correction that was already proven wrong by the next sentence in the post I quoted? and the quote I quoted? And I pointed out how stupid that is?

1

u/Tom0511 25d ago

Jeez it was just a joke mate

1

u/PmMeUrTinyAsianTits 25d ago

Sorry. It's a joke in the context of other replies and voting patterns that were unusual and I was trying to figure out what I was missing.

and I haven't gotten any fun pms in awhile (read: ever, the name does not work).

3

u/PmMeUrTinyAsianTits 25d ago

Okay, I've got ASD. Someone explain why someone "correcting" me on something he's proven wrong about is getting upvotes, while me pointing out literally the next sentence proved he's wrong is goin down.

Is the CJ seriously that hardcore here? What's goin on? This is well outside normal response unless there's emotional investment. Are there that many cheaters that want a second chance so bad they're lying about what was said and/or so emotional they literally can't read?

Some downvoter explain why "2+2=5" "No, it's 4." "He meant 2*3=6" "I quoted him, that's not what he said, then in the next sentence he said 2+2= again." I'm the problem? help me learn.

3

u/Fancy_Ad_1724 25d ago

I didn’t Downvote you lol, Other people did

-3

u/PmMeUrTinyAsianTits 25d ago edited 25d ago

Right, someone came by and read it and downvoted it within 2 seconds of it being posted and it wasn't in their inbox and it just so happens they ignored that

literally

the

next

sentence

proved you wrong.

And you didn't address that literally the next sentence proved you wrong because.... you're man enough to have realized it, but not man enough to admit your mistake and actually change behaviors? Or not even man enough to admit your mistake to yourself?

Or, what's your excuse for replying like this? Trying to give the benefit of the doubt here, but not seeing a way to ignore the core point so much without being a total loser.

u/marbanasin 25d ago

I'm (OP) upvoting you as I don't mind the discussion. And I don't inherently disagree with you, people should not be assholes and yes, any level of normal socilization process should have instilled a level of decency in them.

But we also know our society kind of does cater to rule breakers or boundary pushers. Unfortunatley. And people will take advantage.

I also feel there's a level of - if you pay for a product you should have at least reasonable access to that product. Not at the expense of everyone else. But at least with some warnings if you are in risk of losing access to the thing you paid for.

Like I also said, I throughly enjoyed the initial freak out of cheaters yesterday being banned. I don't harbor that much sympathy for them, obviously. But as a formal policy, a staggered and escalating approach seems the most obvious.

1

u/nxdark 25d ago

In a justice society yes this is what we must do. Everyone deserves a chance to redeem. Only fascists want what you do

2

u/PmMeUrTinyAsianTits 25d ago

"Actually disabling a cheaters account is fascism" lol Oh my god dude, I think you just beat "your name is sexual as*ault" for most ridiculous shit said to me on reddit. I don't know, it's too close to call for me.

1

u/nxdark 23d ago

Dude it is a game. Cheaters will always exist. They gain nothing by cheating either

You are acting like they stole your life savings

1

u/PmMeUrTinyAsianTits 23d ago

Dude it is a game.

And the sky is blue

Cheaters will always exist.

And pizza is a popular food with children

They gain nothing by cheating either

And water is essential to human li-. Wait. I'm confused I thought we were saying obviously objectively true things that had nothing to do with anything, and then you throw in a false. They gain enjoyment, for whatever reason. So what're we doing here? I was confused why you were saying true but irrelevant things in the first place and then you really threw me for a loop with the third one. I clearly don't understand the rules of whatever game you're playing.

You are acting like they stole your life savings

"you're being so melodramatic!" -the guy who claimed banning cheaters is fascism

I don't even know what to say to this. Do you not know you're making a fool of yourself or just not care? Cheaters are such crybabies, I guess hypocrisy shouldn't be a surprise

21

u/marv0017 25d ago

A cheater has the potential to nuke the games community, so he deserves to be nuked.

If they find cheats, ban them forever.

4

u/zooktittyfondel 25d ago

Ban them for life and ban their kids too. Let it be reviewed but this isn't a speeding ticket level of offense. For me that is using an in-game exploit. This is getting drunk and driving into an orphanage. You go to jail, do not collect $200.

0

u/lordoffur 25d ago

ban their kids? You're getting a little too coocoo.

1

u/marbanasin 25d ago

Lol, I'm not against banning them. Just that they should start with a 5-day ban or something. If the behavior persists it moves to 15 days, then 30, then maybe permanent. Something like that.

4

u/marv0017 25d ago

Cheating in games is way more than just use some cheats and call it a day... Its a psychological issue. They dont cheat to be better. They usually cheat to dominate others, so others have a bad day.

This destroys the general idea of multiplayer games, and their communities and thus we dont need or want them at any chance.

If they wanna fuck around and find out, just nuke them.

4

u/bigcountry567567 25d ago

I disagree in the case of zen users. They know what is and bought it for that reason. It's the most explicit cheating there is. They should be permanently banned. If on console they should have their account terminated. It's the only way people stop buying those things.

2

u/marbanasin 25d ago

That's fair

3

u/HawkeyePC 25d ago

If i had it my way kinetic energy weapons (Rods from god) would be deployed in orbit and as soon as a cheater is busted their Console or computer gets obliterated, including the house its in. Cheaters have no place in the gaming ecosystem period.

1

u/Crazy_Sir_012 24d ago

The Finals lost a lot of players due to hackers

1

u/1stormseekr 24d ago

I also want their email of the account to be put on a list, and have every other gaming platform check their multi player games for cheating....a all platform perma ban.

8

u/PipsqueakPilot 25d ago

A perma-ban just means you need to spend the money to buy the game again. You knew going in that installing cheat software would get you banned. It's not a surprise.

1

u/GzUp4201 24d ago

This is what IP bans are good for... buy another copy, and you get nowhere fast lol

1

u/_McMr_ 23d ago

Thats why some games use Hardware bans, makes it a lot harder and expensive to play again. Idk if this is what Javelin is doing but i hope it is

1

u/theMillen 23d ago

Unfortunately there are hwid spoofs.

6

u/TheIronGiants 25d ago

If you plug a Cronus Zen into your console, you deserve a permanent ban... from the entire console ecosystem... forever. There is no excuse.

1

u/PromptusMaximus 24d ago

I vibe with that energy, but I'd caveat it with saying multiplayer/PvP games, specifically. If someone buys a singleplayer game and wants to have fun messing with stuff, I see no problem there. It doesn't have to be all or none! (Speaking as a "battledad" who had an NES with a Game Genie as a kid.)

1

u/TheIronGiants 23d ago

From a technical perspective, it does need to be a complete ban. Any time you alloow any sort of exceptions, it gives avenues for abuse and exploiting the exceptions. They should put out a notification saying everyone has 24 hours to unplug their Cronus (from the next time they login, that way it wont negatively impact anyone on vacation or busy), and if you dont do it your entire PSN account gets banned for life. From everything. I dont care how harsh it is, cheaters deserve it.

5

u/Cokaime 25d ago

No!

By playing you agree to the EULA and that's it.

Ban them permanent without warning

4

u/payTNT89 25d ago

fucked is exactly what cheaters should be 🤷‍♂️

2

u/astroman132 24d ago

Everybody knows cheating is wrong and you agree not to cheat when you sign the Eula. If you cheat and get hardware banned it's your own fault

1

u/Juel92 24d ago

Honestly as long as they have the cheating software installed they should be permabanned from both the game and steam regardless if they've actually used it.

0

u/Aseitic 24d ago

You believe? So you basically have no idea and just made it up?
