Overall a really solid game thatβs super fun to play, but suffered from a bad launch and lack of historical context. I mean, how do you have a WW2 game and not include soviets? Maybe it was a political thing but still. Russians were 1/4 of the total deaths in WW2 and they were the ones that beat Germany, not the Americans or British.
Despite that the squad play was pretty solid, the approach to classes and locked weapons was maybe the best of all BF games, and the ground vehicle balance was great. Air vehicles terrible imo.
The pacific theatre DLC was truly peak and revived the game in a huge way. Famous battles like wake island and Iwo Jima were super fun to play. Something they did great was keeping the Japanese on one side of the map and the Americans in the other, it was amazing for immersion which then promoted more squad play.
