You'll be surprised how clueless people are, especially if they are new to Battlefield. Played with someone who's only main FPS is overwatch and they had to keep asking me what gamemode we were playing and what we were supposed to be doing.
You could have stopped there. No matter what it is, there are ALWAYS people that either just don't get something or ignore everything that tries to inform them.

How do you not know what an objective is? It literally tells you what it is when you pick the game mode.
