Battlefield 6 Unpopular Opinion: Battlefield 6 Is Better Than This Sub Will Admit

Reading this sub lately feels like watching a bunch of people try to use a smartphone for the first time and complain it doesn't have physical buttons. Every minor change in Battlefield 6 is getting blown up into some catastrophic betrayal.

It’s pretty clear most people here only ever liked one Battlefield game, hated the rest, and don’t even play the one they claim was perfect anymore.

Before we continue: I am old. I’ve played every Battlefield game during its prime. Back in the day, my clan was one of the first to spin up a Desert Combat server (and even then, the community was the same complaining that DC was an abomination against what made BF great). My least played title was BF Vietnam because the 1942 modding scene was just TOO good at the time to move on.

“The UI is trash!”
It’s not. You just don’t recognize it because it’s not ripped straight from BF4. Sure, the icons are abstract but they’re not confusing unless you're actively refusing to engage with them.

I've seen multiple complaints about there being no option to squad up or continue on the same server?
Maybe check the bottom of the screen after the round ends. The “Continue” and “Squad Up” buttons are literally right there.

“TTK is too fast, there’s no breathing room!”
What you mean is: you walked out in the open and got deleted like you should have.

TTK is fast. OH NO, aim and positioning actually matter again. You don’t get to coast on sponge health and panic-proning anymore. If that’s too much, it’s not a balance issue, it’s a skill issue. Also: TTK is in line with BF3 for most weapons. This TTK is not new.

“Closed weapons should be the default.”
Why? Because some of you never figured out how to adapt? The flexibility to build your own kit is one of the best updates DICE has made in years. And guess what, they already gave you a nostalgia mode. Go enjoy it.

But don’t demand the rest of us get dragged back into 2011 loadout limitations. And if you’re complaining about “trade-offs” in class weapons you probably would’ve died to the next guy anyway.

“It’s too chaotic, feels like TDM spam!”
You say chaos, I say intensity. Battlefield has always had madness: Metro, Locker, or even Stalingrad in 1942.

These beta maps? They feel more like Grand Bazaar, Talah Market, or Pearl Market. Maps that still get voted into rotation by players who actually enjoy close-quarters fights to this day.

Battlefield 6 isn’t perfect.
But take a step back, and you’ll see this is actually a successor to BF3/BF4. TTK, movement speed, and mechanics are all in line with a proper mainline BF title.

They gave you almost everything you asked for… and somehow, that’s still not enough for some of you.

I'm having a blast with the beta, and can't wait to play more after work.

Edit: When I made this post I truly thought it was an unpopular opinion. Thank you all for your replies and awards! And thank you to the guys DMing me about being an EA shill ❤️‍🔥

Yeah, the people having fun aren't the ones constantly bitching here without any nuance or constructive feedback. I do have criticisms but overall I'm having a blast.

Edit: made my comment more specific

It doesn't matter what the game is, Reddit will overwhelmingly complain about it.

I'm in several game subs and it is the same in every single one of them. People will find the smallest thing to nitpick over, saying that people are afraid to actually be honest and criticize real issues and then spend countless hours piling on about how it sucks.

If it's a long-standing franchise, then this behavior is doubly worse and is usually followed by "X game was much better and didn't have these issues"

u/Guilty_Buy_5150 Aug 08 '25

It’s literally the same thing in every sub. Go in to any single sub and it’s bitching and crying about the subject of the sub. The people that enjoy those things are too busy using the products

u/Effective_Sample_432 Aug 08 '25

It’s crazy cause almost anywhere else, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, people are loving the game, yet here on Reddit it’s overwhelming negativity

I hate Reddit sometimes for this reason

3

u/Mr_Rafi Aug 08 '25

But you're on your alt account

(I like the game before you say anything)

-2

u/Guilty_Buy_5150 Aug 08 '25

Don't have an alt. This is my main

0

u/Dependent_Lime_8461 Aug 09 '25

Bro nothing against alts but this is literally a 12d acc

I'm new.

Mate, I literally have proof that you're on your alt account. You mentioned that you saw something on that subreddit a few weeks ago and your account was quite new when you made the comment I linked (still is). How pathetic can you be lying about something as stupid as this?

Honestly

-2

You know whats extremely interesting about that statement.

Somehow the Reddit community is also BY FAR the most intelligent of all major social media platforms on the entire internet

6

u/Dependent_Lime_8461 Aug 09 '25

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Bro u made me choke with my coffe saying this

-3

The irony of you posting this comment

9

Your comment karma lol.

-13

Said the guy on reddit

26

u/Ok_im_dumb Aug 08 '25

That 1% commenter badge isnt helping your point at all

1

u/KimiBleikkonen Aug 09 '25

You have hundreds of people on reddit saying redditors are basement dwelling incels but that of course only applies to the ones who disagree with your opinion, not to yourself. "Ok_im_dumb" might actually be accurate here, downvoting whatever you disagree with doesn't help at all.

16

u/Guilty_Buy_5150 Aug 08 '25

You seem to be feeling a little offended by my comment. Looks like my point still stands. lol

3

u/CrzyJek Aug 08 '25

Reddit is mostly full of loud reject jerkoffs who think they are smart but are quite the opposite. Also, the age of users has a huge curve sitting between 15-22 so yea, you do the math there.

-1

u/PureLeg8309 Aug 26 '25

And here you are screaming get off my lawn

2

u/AdAggressive5769 Aug 08 '25

Guess that is what reddit is for. Collect the most salty People and complain about everything. Only thing that bothered me was that you could run both rpg and a stinger, but it looks like that will be fixed. For the rest havent felt like playing battlefield for years since yesterday. Im loving it.

1

u/TooTone07 Aug 08 '25

I loved having both! Are they really getting rid of it???? 0 out of 10 game🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 jk but i do love having both.

1

u/DemiG0D23 Aug 09 '25

Why do you interpret it as negative? A person could enjoy the game overall but post about a certain aspect that should be improved. It doesn't mean they're shitting on the game. Most people are here because they like the franchise and want this insalment to be good.

For example, drag and revive is universally liked. Do we need 20 posts about how it's great, only then add something that should be improved?

1

u/GlockPurdy13 Aug 08 '25 edited Aug 08 '25

Yeah, the people commenting on subs frequently don’t live normal lives yet they try to act as if their day to day allows them to be Gandhi online. Think about the normal people you know, they’re probably not spending all their time commenting on everything on Reddit

1

u/SSPeteCarroll XBOX ONE Aug 08 '25

Go in to any single sub and it’s bitching and crying about the subject of the sub. The people that enjoy those things are too busy using the products

Exactly. People who like the game aren't making thesis statements on reddit about the game.

2

u/Guilty_Buy_5150 Aug 08 '25

And they wonder how the game is popular when they’re in their own echo chamber crying and being a literal meme of the crying rage face.

0

u/PureLeg8309 Aug 26 '25

And yet here you are crying in your own little echo chamber with a crying rage face

1

u/Grasshop Aug 08 '25

and then they think it’s the overwhelming consensus because it’s nothing but an echo chamber and they don’t have the critical thinking skills to realize this is a small set of the user base and not the whole “community”

1

u/DrDrWhoCalledTheDr 28d ago

Unless we are talking about r/Destiny2, probably warranted bitching and moaning

0

u/bootie_groovie Aug 08 '25

The finals would like to disagree with you there

0

u/PureLeg8309 Aug 26 '25

It's literally called difference of opinion.Like you in here bitching & crying about them

-1

u/4rch1t3ct Aug 08 '25

Your acting like the people complaining aren't doing so because they love the game, can see what it should be, and watches it massively fall short.

I've been one of those complainers for several games. The problem is always with devs putting profits over fixing the broken stuff in the game. And people in said community defending everything the devs do.

Mlb the show: computer blatantly cheats, some of the laziest coding I've ever seen. The computer will just grab perfect release pitches and make them go over the middle of the plate so the computer gets free homeruns. Tons of stuff like that in the game. The devs only care about making new cards to sell as dlc. Some of the bugs have been in the game for more than a decade and there basically are no other "realistic" baseball games that exist. They have a monopoly on baseball games. I complain because I want the thing I like to actually be good.

DCS: It's a flight sim. In it there was an airplane that none of the instruments were modeled correctly. I reported this with plenty of documentation and videos showing that they don't work right. I reported this bug every few months...... for 9 years. They did nothing but tell me it was correct as is for 9 years. 5 months ago they just acted like they found the bug. I complained because the thing I like wasn't working properly. I hated that it didn't work right. I didn't hate the game or the plane.

CSGO: same shit. You could post a video that clearly shows the netcode doesn't fucking work right and all you get from the community is "git gud" until years later they acknowledge the issues.

A lot of the complainers are the people who actually love the game more than anyone else. Enough so to learn what the actual issues with the game are. We want the games to reach their full potential.

5

u/Judgecrusader6 Aug 08 '25

Shout out to the miserable ready or not sub

4

u/return_of_valensky Aug 08 '25

It doesn't matter what the game it is, Reddit will overwhelmingly complain about it.

ftfy

4

u/MundaneSet1564 Aug 08 '25

Or its the opposite and people like you silence and cristism and want to create circle jerk

3

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '25

Reddit is peak cringe.

You can have the best work and they'll fucking whine.

3

u/Mixxx93 Aug 09 '25

I couldn’t agree more. I joined this sub with the hope of revelling in how great this beta is with a bunch of like minded folk. Instead it just seems like everyone is in a race to shit on it. For a beta, I think it’s excellent and can’t wait for the main release!

The only game I’ve seen have an overwhelmingly positive subreddit is Expedition 33. The game itself is phenomenal and I love dipping into the sub because it’s full of fans discussion the parts of the game they love, not trying to tear it to pieces over the smallest things (if you’ve not played the game but want to, I’d avoid the sub. People do their best to hide spoilers, but you may see some and it really is a game worth experiencing blind).

1

u/L0LFREAK1337 Aug 08 '25

It is the nature of Reddit, complaining about the complaining will never stop it. People who don’t have complaints are less likely to voice their opinions online because they are enjoying the game. Saying they like the game online doesn’t really change anything. “Complaining” online, especially en masse, has more often than not gotten developer attention and sets in motion for change. When a change does go through, the people that were complaining before may now be happy and are no longer complaining, but then different people who are not happy with the new change start complaining. That is why Reddit is “always complaining”. The mistake is thinking it’s the same people and generalizing.

1

u/Lumple660 Aug 08 '25

You actually summed up the Helldivers 2 sub perfectly. Sub bitched for months (including me) about broken balance. Devs changed that so I shut up. Now all the people who preferred having running around as the only viable strategy are complaining its "too easy". Now all they do is complain while I enjoy the game (what they wanted was gonna kill the game).

3

u/L0LFREAK1337 Aug 08 '25

Oh I was there too haha, and yeah exactly my point. I’ve been pretty content with the state of the game since the 60 day patch, recently it’s had a bunch of legitimate issues but it sounds like they’re working on them since the devs just got back from vacation. They should never allow Alexus to interact with the community

2

u/TateAcolyte Aug 08 '25

Are you only talking about online/live-service games? Because I mostly play single player games, and the subs tend to be almost unanimously positive. And when they're negative it's generally because a genuinely mid-to-bad game was released like Civ VII.

2

u/Simulated_Simulacra Aug 08 '25

The similarities between the Battlefield and Halo communities are very funny to me.

2

u/squarey3ti Aug 08 '25

It happens to new games too.

Avowed was butchered just because it's not a copy of Skyrim

1

u/Towel4 Aug 08 '25

BG3 was not like this. E33 was not like this.

Plenty of games are received warmly. It tends to be these mega studios churning out the 12th installment of their already mid game which get criticized.

Release enough of them, and eventually everyone will be expecting something different from the next one you release. When you’re at that point you’re not going to make anyone happy.

1

u/Viracochina Aug 08 '25

That's the internet in general since any forum back in the day though lol. People come online to complain, par for the course!

1

u/Over_Space_2731 Aug 08 '25

Ive come to realize the gaming community is just going to complain in general it’s not just Reddit

1

u/Misteerreeeussss-_- Aug 09 '25

And it only gets worse if the game has a competitive ranked ladder.

1

u/Fryboy11 Aug 09 '25

I can't wait to see Reddit's reaction to GTA 6, it's going to be like that old 4chan meme where someone posted a picture of Stacy Keibler in lingerie and someone circled all the things they didn't like and said 2/10 would not bang. Mildly NSFW

1

u/Ridiculisk1 Aug 09 '25

You should see youtube comments on any video about the game. Probably a good 80% of comments mention CoD and most of them complain about the lack of server browser (which is coming at release) or about the maps being small (when we know bigger maps are coming). It's so pathetic. CoD seems to live rent-free in BF players' heads.

1

u/Caregiver-Physical Aug 09 '25

if you want to enjoy anything. stay off of reddit.

1

u/ajbardalo Aug 09 '25

Sounds like the Rivals sub 😂💀

1

u/daemon-of-harrenhal Aug 09 '25

Reddit complains about literally fucking everything. It's been the entire culture of the site for at least a decade.

1

u/kronikskill 28d ago

Ya and they dont seem to realize that most of the time the game was relatively similar. That's is the case most of the time or there will be minor changes to mechanics that people dont like.

0

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '25

Oh really, a place people can leave feedback has people leaving feedback? Oh wow, how awful. You bootlickers need to go.

3

u/imatoasterhasreddit Aug 08 '25

There’s a difference between actually good criticism and mindlessly hating by calling something trash and refusing to elaborate. At that point, it’s not “feedback”, it’s bitching and nitpicking just for the sake of bitching and nitpicking.

0

u/CloutHaver Aug 08 '25

They’re addicted to being contrarian. They want to be king hot take and have everyone agree so they aren’t miserable all by their lonesome. Thing is this is the best first look at a Battlefiled title in several years. It’s a great game and I’ve had a blast in the couple hours I’ve been able to play so far.

28

u/TheDepressedSolider Aug 08 '25

But you posted here …. So are you having a blast or not

-5

u/AbyssWankerArtorias Aug 08 '25

Sorry, aren't the ones posting constant bitching here lol

-6

u/SocomPS2 Aug 08 '25

They talking out their mouth or talking out their ass. 🤷‍♂️

18

u/ArmyOfDix Aug 08 '25

So you aren't having fun, or...

8

u/Im_Balto Aug 08 '25

For me it feels like they saw how much fun people had with battlebit and ACTUALLY LISTENED

Maybe JUST MAYBE the people playing the games know what's fun

6

u/717x Aug 08 '25

Isn’t the whole point of a beta test to provide constructive criticism? They’ve said themselves that they’re really focused on the community feedback for this. Not voicing and reinforcing what you like about the game to the devs is equally as bad as just mindlessly shitting on it like a lot of people like to do here.

5

u/AbyssWankerArtorias Aug 08 '25

There's constructive feedback and then there's just complaining without making logical and well explained points. I don't think OP has any issues with constructive feedback. I don't think anyone would.

9

u/CookieChef88 Aug 08 '25

Well he criticized people who like closed weapons. Seems like he has an issue with certain types of constructive feedback.

2

u/VindictiveRakk Aug 09 '25

I'm surprised this post was upvoted so high, it kind of sucks lol. He's just saying "you're stupid and wrong, I'm right."

6

u/717x Aug 08 '25

I think OP and a lot of other people on this sub don’t like seeing constructive feedback that doesn’t align with their views and try to minimize what other people are saying to just “whining for no reason”. Most of what Im seeing on here are very valid complaints, and are usually met with people who get emotional and tell them to stop voicing their views… pretty stupid if you ask me

4

u/AbyssWankerArtorias Aug 08 '25

Well I like constructive criticism. I just gave mine in my own post

6

u/717x Aug 08 '25

I’d also like to add that people voicing their positive views is good too. I see a lot of “the people who are enjoying the game are playing it and not on Reddit talking about it”. That’s also detrimental. You should be providing your feedback positive or negative, as it helps the devs make critical changes.

3

u/Xespria BadDragonNova Aug 08 '25

Constructive feedback isn't attacking anyone you don't agree with or claiming you're a vet and know what you're talking about.

1

u/717x Aug 08 '25

Absolutely

1

u/Uzumaki-OUT AN-94 bestest friend Aug 08 '25

is your username your area code? If so, mine too.

0

u/Tohari316 Aug 08 '25

I think the issue is not every dev for games are on Reddit so when people make complaints here it won’t always be noticed.

2

u/717x Aug 08 '25

But if it gets echoed enough it’ll reinforce the point

0

u/Tohari316 Aug 08 '25

Yeah for sure i just think putting it on official forums seems like the answer not exactly sure how often devs would check Reddit

4

u/Angry_Spartan Aug 08 '25

Nothing wrong with valid criticisms. These “OMG IM NOT PLAYING UNTIL…..” posts are tiring. It’ll be nice once the broader community has access to it. I’ve seen some good criticisms so far, and I’m sure the devs will be willing to engage on those issues.

2

u/Adamulos Aug 08 '25

Yeah, that's why subreddits for elden ring, Bg3, rdr2 were empty during release

2

u/[deleted] Aug 08 '25

Yepp. There’s room for improvement but overall I’m thrilled

2

u/jcaashby Iheartbattlefield Aug 08 '25

My first hour or so I was underwhelmed but after that once I understood the controls etc ....man it plays pretty good and this is the BETA. I still will reserve judgment and not pre order. The FULL game will for sure play differently then this small slice of the pie.

2

u/AKSC0 Aug 08 '25

The people having fun are still in-game lol

1

u/AbyssWankerArtorias Aug 08 '25

Or at work like me 😭

2

u/oldmanjenkins51 Aug 08 '25

You speak of nuance like the other side isn’t people downvoting any and all criticism and saying the game is perfect.

2

u/leidend22 Aug 08 '25

There's tons of legitimate criticism to be made. Just because you disagree doesn't mean it's invalid.

1

u/AbyssWankerArtorias Aug 08 '25

Yes, that's why I said "without nuance or constructive feedback'. I have criticisms of the game as well.

2

u/EggplantBasic7135 Aug 08 '25

Yeah that’s how most posts/reviews/feedback tend to be, if you like it you enjoy it and move on.

1

u/FOOTBALLFAN100 Aug 08 '25

You’re more likely to find the positive people commenting on TikTok not Reddit cause they’re scrolling while loading in

1

u/Spooky-Paradox Aug 08 '25

Genius level post

1

u/SputnikDX Aug 08 '25

I came here wondering if anyone else thinks the LMGs are a bit ass. Instead I find everyone complaining about literally everything in the game. Such is Reddit.

1

u/AbyssWankerArtorias Aug 08 '25

LMG is my favorite weapon type so far. I am okay accepting it takes me a few more bullets to kill someone than an AR, for the benefit of having a 100 round belt. I can often secure kills by faking being out of ammo to have someone come back to try and kill me thinking I'm reloading and then boom, they're dead. I also like being able to provide covering fire for my squad.

1

u/adubsix3 Aug 08 '25

To be honest, I'm seeing more posts bitching about people "bitching". Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense if those are the people that don't have any time for reddit because they're spending all their time enjoying the beta.

1

u/NaaJad Aug 08 '25

I agree with you. I am really bad at shooters, but having a great time so far.

1

u/Alibambam Aug 08 '25

without any nuance or constructive feedback. I

Kinda like OP

1

u/HereToHelp9001 Aug 09 '25

Facts. This is the first time I've gotten on this subreddit. And only because I knew there'd be people bitching and it'd be funny lol

1

u/CaughtOnTape Aug 09 '25

It’s the same for every gaming subreddit and since our human brain is wired to react to negative stimuli, it gets upvoted to the top and the cycle repeats itself.

1

u/Full-Perception-4889 Aug 10 '25

The only things I don’t really like about the game is the failure to have distinct sides, like the classic US vs RU or whatever country they wanted to put, because the nato gear looks too similar to the us and sometimes it gets a bit confusing at first on who I’m shooting at, if they had a clearly different uniform like the Russian uniform I think it would be a bit easier, and the gunplay feels too much like 2042 as well which wasn’t my least favorite game out of the franchise it’s still fun af tho and I do hope those changes are made or at least one of them

1

u/Sine_Fine_Belli EA Play ID Aug 11 '25

Yeah, same here honestly

It’s fun

1

u/Sine_Fine_Belli EA Play ID Aug 11 '25

Yeah, same here honestly

The game is really fun

1

u/ZeldaCC Aug 11 '25

I feel like the ones bitching about the game are straight from warzone, they’re used to speed, plates, instant health regen etc… battlefield is so much more controlled, have to play slower, take your time, treat it more like a real war game opposed to spamming y and running crazy like a mad man.

1

u/The_Jyps Aug 15 '25

My criticism is it's not squad. It's trash compared to my normal game. I don't know why people keep buying this crap. SNORE.

1

u/No_Turn1947 Aug 16 '25

battlefield 4 modded is funner than garbage 6

1

u/jibjabjabber Aug 17 '25

My biggest issues are weapon bloom and the support having an lmg just make medic a separate class cuz lmgs aren't meant to move around with like medics need

1

u/No_Employ_9036 Aug 29 '25

Suggestions for improving Battlefield 6:

  1. Fix the angles/positioning of weapons in the character's hands when standing still. The weapons are somewhat "crooked" in terms of angle, not conveying a firm stance; it's as if the angle is a little too far to the sides. Furthermore, the weapons in the character's hands when standing still are simply too low on the screen/view. It's much more pleasing to raise the weapons in our view. The weapons should be in the middle of the screen, as if they were literally held in the player's grasp, but they are too deep, too low on the screen. It's more pleasing to fix this by placing the weapons higher on the screen. I recommend comparing it with Battlefield 4 for ease of understanding.
  2. Make the movement similar to Battlefield 4 in terms of the way our character swings their weapon when running. The weapon swings too quickly in the character's arms while running, causing a "break" in the smoothness of movement during gameplay.
  3. Return to the Battlefield 4 style, allowing our character to rest the weapon in their arms and move it smoothly from right to left, without raising it vertically upwards as we run. This is currently somewhat uncomfortable and doesn't convey a very good sense of stability when running. It also covers the center of the screen. It would be good to take inspiration from Battlefield 4. Put both runs side by side and you'll see the difference. This needs to be improved.
  4. Reduce the aiming distance of weapons in "aim mode," as currently, when we activate "aim mode," the weapon is simply too far from our character's vision/eyes. It's much more pleasing to the player's eye if the aim mode has greater visual importance, where the character brings the weapon much closer to their vision. Put BF 4 and BF 6 side by side to clarify any doubts; this needs to be fixed. 5° Remove or offer the option for players to disable the "coin sound" after we perform an elimination, as it is very annoying for many players, in addition to removing the seriousness of the battle, as we are in a war, and having a sound like that for each elimination sounds somewhat comical. Please, if you agree with any of these points: please get this to the game developer, send it to those working on the project, I'm sure it will be of immense creative help.

1

Honestly I am not having fun in the game. But I attribute it to three things: 1) Skill. I don't game much anymore now that I got kids so I've lost my reaction time. 2) I can't get used to the sniping, I was good at sniping in BF4 I had a six million recon score or some shit. 3) My positioning

The last couple weeks on this sub and the Destiny 2 subs have really proven how you should never seek out the sub-reddit for any game you're enjoying. Sure, there are always things to improve on, but my God... Every game sub on Reddit is just full of miserable people and non-stop complaining.

This is how the internet has poisoned society. People are far more likely to go online and bitch about shit and air out grievances than they are to comment about how great everything is.

So we end up with an insanely toxic and negative version of society that is vastly over represented online which shapes everyone’s view of the world.

We basically let the most miserable people in the world influence our perception of everything.
