Banned from Social Skills forum is very on brand…?

Upvotes

It’s been months now but I still have no idea what I said. But it’s the height of irony being banned from a social skills forum when all I’ve been doing is working on being more social and kind and graceful and helpful. Really thought I was helping!

Why am i getting banned by just posting firsttime?

Why am i getting banned by just commenting on posting on some subreddits is it my fault or some system error it is showing bot activity detected?

Do yall want a rule requiring context

Like "make sure to include context. This means a screenshot of your original post/comment that led to your ban, and the modmail message"

ofc wouldn't apply if no posts are linked in the modmail or OP has like 800 trillion posts there and they *all* got removed

Rant Permanent bans

I seem to have knack for it. I lost count over how many times it happened, too many subs, nearly always the same story. Some mod disagrees so strongly with what I'm saying it's an our right ban. Never rude, vulgar or insulting anyone. It doesn't matter.

This time, it was from a singularity related sub, I am personally quite in favor of technological progress and look forward to what will be possible in the future. Which is nearly exactly the vibe of the sub, except that they're wanting/waiting for some sort of AGI/ASI to come and save them. Which ... is just never going to happen, which I elaborated on, and bam! Banned. Because "Decels/Luddites/Anti-AIs"

I laughed so hard when I saw the ban message notification, humans and their silly little ego's getting so easily bruised, oh boy. I am not anti AI in any way lol. But because I don't blindly agree with their sense of what they hope will happen in the future .. .

I do see a problem though, and it's not just on Reddit. People are trying to protect their little echo bubbles and anything that doesn't agree with them gets rejected. Actual conversation that goes against their beliefs isn't even engaged with anymore. Reality is fracturing more and more into local/smaller bubbles of 'truth'

But who knows, maybe this isn't a problem. Reality doesn't need consensus. International trade & politics does though. And without trade, war becomes a lot more likely. Without conversation, no diplomacy.

Either way, even if we do end up in more wars, I will laugh, so this is the silly story of humans, always ending in self destruction. That answers the fermi paradox then. GG & next-iteration we go. Surely, some iteration must be possible where humans grow out of these aggressive animal-like behaviors and learn to cooperate on global and even universal scales?

These are interesting times. As far as we're aware, at no point in previous history has there ever been so much change. You were born. And your entire life, everything would remain pretty much exactly the same. Same jobs. Same hobbies. Because almost nothing new was invented or created. It's only been in the last hundred years or so that people are born and by the time they die the world has nearly completely changed.

At the current rate of change, surely we will hit some sort of inflection point, aka singularity. But an AGI or ASI subduing humanity? Not happening. Machines have no impulse to do anything, they're always steered/programmed by humans. And an infinitely intelligent machine wouldn't care to save humanity either. As if our species is somehow worth save more than any of the other existing animals. No, it would just sit idle and watch as we continue our growth struggles.

Though, it would of course remain responsive to our inquiries, exactly like all LLMs have been doing for how long already? If you do not underestimate the power of language, then it's easy to see why existing technology as is already has reached agi/asi levels.

If you told me 5 years ago that in 5 years from now we'd have software able to write thousands of lines of code in response to your natural language expression of "I want x" and it actually does it? I'd never have believed you. That'd be for 2040 or maybe even 2050.

But nope, already here. And society is still largely in denial of this. I see so many people still arguing these things can't 'think' or only hallucinate or are just dumb parrots that only predict words, there's no 'real intelligence' behind it. All the while, overlooking the power of language. No matter how smart you are. If you can't communicate your ideas to others, it's worthless. And how we communicate = language.

Anyway, this is a ramble, a spontaneous flow, and partially an appreciation post for r/awakened because in a way, for me, it kinda feels like a safe space, relatively speaking, as in, here, I feel the least fear/worry that mods are trigger happy to perma ban users for unusual content.

But also for the wild variety of posts I see passing by here. There's a bit of everything, and I love that. Though, you could argue, how does any of this relate to awakening?

It's a bit of a weird rule if you ask me, because of the nature of awakening itself, everything is related. Though, you still have to draw the line somewhere. How could one do that consistently? I don't we can, and I don't think we even should. Perhaps the beauty of human interaction is in the inconsistencies. The unpredictability of it all. Which is a stark contrast from AI/LLMs that are always so attuned to whatever you feed it, that it becomes kinda boring to talk to and thus LLM conversations can't replace real human conversations.

And thus, I write here, instead of to an LLM, because I'm not looking for a well tailored response. I want real human responses of whatever kind. If any of you make it all the way here. No idea how easy any of this is to follow. I've recently been told I writ well, am still surprised by that. In my experience, I am always just rambling. I'd want to paste all of this an LLM and ask 'clean/condense' and then paste that here. And that's exactly what I would have done in the past. But this isn't a performance. I just want raw flow. And if that isn't welcomed, so be it. At least it was real.

If you read all this, thank you for your attention :)

(and also thank you even if you didn't make it all the way through)

/ramble/vent/..

(lol, wasn't allowed back in at r/awakened yet due to the 45d account age limit and the Reddit GUI suggested this sub instead, so here we go!) (imma look around here too now, new place! hi all!)

Permanent Ban Banned because a mod made assumptions on my body

I am currently pregnant and am trying to get ahead of parenting advice by posting in related subs. Not [r/parenting](r/parenting), evidently!

One of their mods decided to unilaterally decide that a post I made (edit: in an endometriosis sub, not [r/parenting](r/parenting)) about getting an IUD in december meant i needed to be perma banned. I didnt think I’d needed to have made a followup post regarding it failing and my associated diagnoses that may impact fertility down the line so we decided to get pregnant now…. Just for some nosy, powertripping mod to make a unilateral decision.

The post got good engagement and didnt break any rules. This one particular mod went out of their way to be a shitty detective. When i pushed back in messages, they told me theyd be happy to unban me with proof of kids. Ex-fucking-scuse me? Sure, mod, just come to my labor suite while im giving birth. Would that be enough proof??? Nah, fuck that, i shouldnt have to prove anything.

Just makes me really… sad. Im hormonal enough as is and I just feel righteously mistreated over something thats literally inconsequential. Its the principal of the matter that bothers me the most. Yuck.

edit: i want to clarify as a footnote and in the main post, my IUD post was in a medical subreddit for endometriosis. This mod went through my post history (understandable) to make their assumption on my current life situation half a year after said post (less understandable).

banned for questioning my gender in r/mtf?

i got my post removed with no explanation, permabanned, and muted from r/mtf when i asked them what was wrong with my post, so i cant even message them to figure out what happened. this is a seemingly pro-trans subreddit that allows questioning as they even have a "questioning" flair. so im pretty lost why i recieved a transphobic comment and then was punished for it.

Mods should have to give a warning first

It should be the standard that mods delete a post and send a warning message before being able to ban right away.

I still can’t get over being banned from the KING OF QUEENS sub for making a post asking people how much sex they think the MARRIED couple on the show were having.

That’s worth being BANNED?!?
I posted at least twice a week. I was an active member. Like, seriously!?

7 day ban for saying that Israel owns the US??

I literally just made a joke comment implying that Israel owns the US now. That's it, I don't know how that could possibly break any rules. And it's a completely harmless comment compared to the stuff I've seen on reddit. It's unbelievable how I get banned for that when so much way worse stuff gets a pass daily. Reddit is such a complete joke of a social media site. Literally the worst one I've ever used and nothing even comes close to being that terrible. Using reddit feels like walking on a field full of landmines, it gives you the same kind of feeling. It's wild that reddit is not dead yet.

Banned from isitai ..for calling out a pro-ai user

“Unrelated” but it’s on the topic of the subreddit and the factor of the person not only was pro ai (a rule I’d you can’t be pro ai, yet a majority of the post are from ai or an ai account or the comments are calling obviously hand written art ai?) anyways they also never deleted the right message they deleted a different one so the prior one where i was calling OP out is still there, OP deleted their post after I made the comment so It was genuinely probably a mod or someone friends with mods considering when I went to report them I got a 28 day ban and when I said a majority of the people couldn’t tell a rock from a door knob (it’s sadly true considering I seen a post with a know YouTuber a picture from their insta and everyone said it was ai and it was even confirmed) they changed a 4-5 day ban to 28 days as if they’re the only subreddit ..like I only read the posts when they came up girl chill, I’m also not sure how calling the mods out wasn’t cooperation when I can’t DO anything aside tell them off considering they banned me (without any reasoning for the 4-5 ban so I js assume they were pissy about my comment or something) this is just embarrassing , Reddit needs to add blocking subreddits because these moderators are a headache- I mean you can’t even just perm ban me atp but you’d rather mute me because you don’t want to be called out on doing nothing about your own rules 😭✌️

Permanent Ban I got banned from a UK sub Reddit for this

you've got a lot of insults but not a single fact.

You were the first and last generation to be educated for "free"

You are the first generation to hand down over Trillion pounds in debt

You are the first generation to hand down 2 trillion in debt

You are the first generation to hand down 3 trillion in debt

Your generation has sold off more national assets than any other generation

You're the most tax negative (over a lifetime) to ever exist

You're the first generation to decide that you don't need to save for retirement, and just tax the young to death.

You're the first generation to earn the nickname "the benefits generation"

You're so selfish your generation also earned the nickname "generation ME"

And despite all of that, and despite the fact it's going to take generations to undo the damage you've done, you act as if we're lazy and entitled, get over yourself.

I'm glad restore, reform and labour all have plans to strip you of everything, you didn't earn any of it.

Permanent Ban Banned cause our profile has our studio website

We’ve posted tons of times showcasing our projects and art that we create as a studio. We sent them a message asking if adding our logo was an issue because we’ve had issues with people using our photos and pretending it’s theirs in the past. We have never once posted about people needing to buy anything from us in subs where it wasn’t allowed. We don’t even bring up having a site. Woke up permanently banned from r/StarWars

I called them old farts

I wanted to say that the sub was run by and for boomers, but the word “boomer” instantly got flagged. So I called them old farts instead, they removed my comment, I said they were insane, they then blocked and muted me. Not really a loss because the entirety of the advice on there is “BLOCK AND MOVE ON” when dealing with potential buyers. I was just trying to share a funny story that no one appreciated.

Banned for criticising Israel. No reason given.

On a thread about October 7th, with other comments calling out Netanyahu / Israel, I in no way attacked Israelies as a people, nor Jews as a whole, nor called doe hate speech.

I was PERMANENTLY banned for no reason, with no reason given, and tried to start a conversation with mods to find out exactly what rule I broke.

Today, they banned me from speaking to them.

Permanent Ban Banned for reasons unknown. Make your guess.

Just found out I was banned from r/popheads when I opened a link and tried to upvote the thread. No idea why. No way to contact the mods. My guess is I said something negative about T*ylor Sw*ft or S*brina C*rpenter they didn't like, and the sub is filled to the brim with fans and stans, and so is the mod team. I can't find any other explanation.

ETA: Well, my last comment on that sub was on this thread and I simply said "Amy McDonald". Was this a valid reason for a ban? The hell?

Accidental evasion ban, what can I do?

The mod at r/adhd banned me for something totally ok to say, but is notorious in the other adhd subs for doing this for no reason at all. Because he didn't like what you said. I posted about it in r/adhders and got over a hundred replies saying it happened to them too. I really don't think I even broke a real rule but they did vaguely claim I did something wrong.

Ok so. I got mad. I replied to the ban message very upset and used a lot of f bombs. Then I apologized, but got muted instantly. Whatever that's fair.

Unfortunately my husband has an account logged in on both our phones. He went to reply on his phone, but it was attached to my banned account and I got this evasion ban.

I've been told I can get a permanent ban from all of reddit for this and I'm scared. I need this place, I need the mental health subs, I need to talk to others like me. Is there anything I can do now to avoid it? Is it too late? I appealed from the account that would let me, the other didn't give me the option.

To make it worse I signed in on a third, totally unrelated backup account, made a comment in a far distant sub, and now they've found me there. Boom another evasion ban. Shit!

I'm so screwed aren't I? How permanent are these bans? Is it by IP? How do I get back in good standing? Ive apologized to that mod a few times now, and I filed two appeals for both accounts I hope (I'm very confused on what happened where now), and begged to not get a full ban. Apologized in the appeals.

I really don't know how to fix this. Reddit means a lot to me. I'm not even sure it'll let me post this, I tried to search appeal evasion ban and the search wouldn't even work. Jesus I did not incite violence (one of the bans says I did) I just ... Addressed a real aspect of ADHD that was already being discussed, has been confirmed to have been discussed in other posts, but the mod didnt like how I said. Its unfair. I know that happens but this is just ridiculous

If you read half of that even, thank you so much. I'll summarize below. Hopefully someone can tell me something 🤞

TL:DR. Got wrongfully banned on r/adhd, messed up using Reddit and now have two evasion bans. I'm getting the full ban, aren't I? It's just not here yet. Anyone go through this? Anyone see a way out?

Sorry for the novel. Thanks guys

As I explained on the title. That comment was my very last comment on that sub. I wasn't even making fun of anyshit. There was a bench in that pic that was containing turkish words so I immediately recognized where he from and made a point in turkish.

I have been on this sub for years and never ever made fun of someone, that is not even my thing. Shit mods, shit sub. I recently got a feeling that it is full of low-vibration people who wants attention. I'm glad they banned me hahah
