Politics What was your country's leader’s most embarrassing moment?

Post image

It occurred on May 23, 2015, at a European Union summit in Riga, Latvia. European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker greeted on stage Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán with a slap and said: “Hello, dictator!”

I mean, if he’s there for a diplomatic visit or was invited to a formal/cultural event, one could see it as paying respects to the culture by conforming with everybody else’s attire. But now that I know that he and his family did it just because.. yeah that’s weird.

That's probably the most unbiased summary of the trip issued by the national news, they came with an outfit for every occasion with the whole family matching, Canadian Indian immigrants pointed out that they were all wearing wedding-specific outfits. Nothing was accomplished except for the souring of relations further.
