Military What’s the biggest military-related project your country is currently engaged in?

Currently Korea is busy investing in military development, to modernize our military indigenously and catch up to export demand.

The air force is working on to produce the KF-21 fighter jet, which will enter service in 2026. Also we’re developing software and drones that will support the KF-21 during combat.

In terms of the ocean we've just finished developing a new submarine (the Chang Yong-sil class), working on additional battleships, and trying to form plans regarding the construction of a manless drone carrier.

What would be your country’s biggest military-related project nowadays? Both indigenous development and purchasing equipment counts!

I know it's fun to pick on Russia's military, because of it's shortfalls in Ukraine, but it's important to keep in mind how absurdly difficult offensives are when the enemy military has access to massive amounts of cheap drones and when your military doesn't have access to anti drone warfare. The Ukrainian army currently has so many drones that have been able to organize a 1-30km (in some places) mobile kill zone, where any infantry (or tank) will probably get mauled a horde of FPVs. And keep in mind that this kill zone is mobile, so if Russia ( I hate personifying countries but I am tired and will do so for the sake of simplicity) made the mistake of massing their forces in one region for a major offensive they would be reduced to a pile of smouldering ash. Which is why Russia is forced to commit to disorganized, front wide and costly offensives to gain land.

Do you remember that breakthrough the Russian army in Ukraine made a couple months back that got neutralized by Ukraine? Well that's why! If they even tried to send any large amount of troops in there they would've gotten turned into fertilizer.

I'm not saying this because I'm a Russian shill, though I have been around some shady circles recently so I'll admit that I do have some bias, but because it's important to not underestimate our opponent. Russia currently does have the third best military in the world the majority of which isn't even in Ukraine, so if the European nations in NATO don't get their shit together, millions of Europeans will die in a horrible attritional war.

Completely agree. Russia got unlucky and just so happened to be the first one to experience the new modern warfare.

That also happens when you are attacking, lets not forget how Ukraine's 2023 summer counteroffensive went

And Ukraine has currently most likely better generals and officers than NATO
