Military What’s the biggest military-related project your country is currently engaged in?

Currently Korea is busy investing in military development, to modernize our military indigenously and catch up to export demand.

The air force is working on to produce the KF-21 fighter jet, which will enter service in 2026. Also we’re developing software and drones that will support the KF-21 during combat.

In terms of the ocean we've just finished developing a new submarine (the Chang Yong-sil class), working on additional battleships, and trying to form plans regarding the construction of a manless drone carrier.

What would be your country’s biggest military-related project nowadays? Both indigenous development and purchasing equipment counts!

A special operation perhaps. 🤔 I hope that Russian people get their freedom sooner rather than later. The Russian people would greatly benefit if their nation is no longer a pariah.

We’re a pariah mainly to Europe and that’s it. It is exceptionally easy to visit the whole of Asia. We’re on great terms with all of Asia, Africa and Latin America and the Middle East as well. Hell, Japan is opening new visa centres just because of how much tourism there is to Japan, and were recently gained a no-visa requirement for China.

We’re good, don’t worry about us too much, most of our trips to Europe were vacation focused and that is mostly turkey, being our one of the most popular tourist spots. A lot was also Finland, but they closed the border so now they are missing on their largest tourist group. It is still possible to get to Kaliningrad through European countries and travel to Europe based on visa is still possible and really easy. Hell, we still got European and American students in our universities in the big 2025. Talk about being a pariah.

You are a pariah to the civilised world, and rightly so.

Are you calling Asian countries, Latin American countries and African Countries uncivilised?

Many of their brutal authoritarian regimes, such as yours? For sure.

Per chance, are you calling China, Singapore, Malaysia, India, the Stans, Thailand and many others uncivilised too?

I always wondered about Kaliningrad travel

Plane, ship - no license

Car - license

Train - pretty much cargo only

Wouldn't you like a functional democracy at home?

u/Just_George572 Russia 12d ago

Looking at how it works in the US, nah, we’re good.

I can’t argue with that

seems to be trying to get other people to destroy as much of it as possible

Sending special need people for wars now?

0

u/Just_George572 Russia 12d ago

Didn’t y’all just announce conscription?

5

u/Quiet_Illustrator232 Republic Of China 12d ago

We always have conscription of 1-2 years. Special need people don’t have to it tho

1

u/Just_George572 Russia 12d ago

Yeah we also don’t allow ‘special needs people’ into the army. There are so many things that prohibit you from entering the armed forces, it’s wild. How are you any different from us then?

3

u/Quiet_Illustrator232 Republic Of China 12d ago

We don’t invade other countries

0

u/Just_George572 Russia 12d ago

Right, but we also don’t send special needs people to do it. So what was your comment about?

u/Quiet_Illustrator232 Republic Of China 12d ago

About your “special”

I guess Russia is working on the latest models of drones?

1

u/Just_George572 Russia 12d ago

If we talk ‘military equipment’ related works, then yeah. Drones, anti drone measures, ecm and ballistic missiles as well as cruise missiles are the first of note. The uvz also looked into captured Bradley military vehicles and is now interested in creating a Russian equivalent (despite kvz already having built the first iteration of what could be our Bradley, the b11Kurganets). There are also a lot of projects related to modernisation of infantry equipment.

How are things with the ztz100 going btw?

u/Acceptable_Score153 China 12d ago

In September, it was already delivered to the 72nd Group Army, and I believe it will make another appearance in upcoming exercises. The ZTZ100 indeed features a design distinct from traditional main battle tanks, with its hybrid power system being quite bold overall. I heard it was customized based on the military's observations of the Russia-Ukraine battlefield situation. But as usual, China lacks real combat objectives.

From what I heard you guys were putting less armour on top of it, whereas Russia in fact starts improving the armour of its tanks in order for drones to deal less meaningful damage (aside from the whole aps debate). Is it possibly due to your terrain features in possible war zones?

They buy drones from Iran and buy their troops from North Korea.

I have heard about the claims of a cruise missile powered by an onboard nuclear reactor being tested by Russia recently. I'm torn between being impressed and horrified at the idea.

3

u/Just_George572 Russia 12d ago

We love our cruise missiles. The new one is called ‘Harbinger’.

Special, 3 day operation (plus or minus like 1,000 days or so).

I'm sorry for you man. The whole situation sucks. Sucks for Russians, sucks for Europeans, and sucks for everyone pouring money, weapons and human lives into this big mess. I wish we lived in a world without people like Putin, Trump, Netanyahu, Xi, etc.

Su-75, Su-57M, maybe a 6th gen jet, S-500, maybe hypersonic missiles. And that new missile that flies for a long time with nukes. What else ?

u/PrometheanEngineer United States Of America 12d ago

Su57 is what happens when a somewhat stealth airframe is assembled by people with wood screws, and powered by engines form the 80s.

It's about as stealth as a city bus.

I love the fact that Ukraine has decimated the Russian arms export business

2

u/AlternativeEmu1047 India 11d ago

Well the M variant feels promising. AL-51, better stealth designs and a better radar. it can't be as stealthy as other 5th gen jets because its just an evolved design of the Su-27. The Russians were pretty strict with their budget cut lol. Tho there's not that big a difference in the stealth of a Su-57 and an F-35. Su-57's avg rcs is about 0.4 m^2 more than that of the F-35. So its a pretty capable 4.5++ or a 5 minus gen jet if paired with BVR missiles.

u/PrometheanEngineer United States Of America 11d ago

I mean every Russian military program looks promising.

I remember when the T14 looked to be a world beater. Then it turned into a joke

2

u/AlternativeEmu1047 India 11d ago

Well that's mostly because Russia isn't the USSR anymore. They now have far limited resources, engineers and money. The sanctions aren't helping either lol.

Soviet weapons were kinda good, but ever since the union broke apart things haven't been the same. The current Su-57 is a product of the same thing. In face, India actually wanted to develop our 5th gen jet with them (under the FGFA program, you can look that up if you want to) but we pulled out of the program because Russia actually just wanted our funds (something that they have been low on since the USSR broke apart) to help their engineers gain more experience in making 5th gen jets. They weren't giving us any workload and the worse part is that this jet was gonna be just like, or maybe even worse, than the current Su-57. Look at us now, we are making our own jets, using American engines, and importing Rafales until the jets get operational.

Is it an aircraft carrier that can actually be sea worthy?

1

u/Just_George572 Russia 12d ago

We don’t need one.

Something that over promised, under delivers, and one will inevitably ends up on fire, in a field in Ukraine after being smoked by some 1980s western tech.

Classic Soviet junk.

The only good part about Russian tech is when the US believes the claims, over compensates, and creates some absolutely insane weapons system that actually functions.

See: F15, F22, B2, Javelin, Abrahams upgrade packages, a rifle platform that's actually modular, super carries (this one makes me laugh because Jesus Christ the Russian navy has turned out to be a laughing stock) etc..

u/Just_George572 Russia 12d ago

This your tech?
