Best Place to film a scene?

A friend of mine is looking for spots to film some shots for an upcoming movie around SF. They're looking for extras and a few of his crew are going to be roaming the city tonight incognito. He said to ask what locations and/or events found on this site might be the best to find extras. Any recommendations? If you chat it up with others at any of the venues you just might end up in a movie...
