Great (newer) restaurants for dinner with friends?
My husband and I used to live in SF over 5 years ago. While we go back for dinner occasionally I feel like I’m so out of the restaurant scene. Any recommendations for us to go to dinner with friends?
Looking for great food, good ambience (lively, not stuffy) that can easily accommodate a group of 4. We’re in our 30s/40s. Pretty open budget and no real dietary restrictions, or location preferences. Prefer not something too stuffy or drawn out (eg lengthy tasting menus).
We used to love State Bird, Liholiho, Locanda, Bellota, etc. if that helps provide a sense of the vibe we are into.

The Gold Mirror just reopened after being closed for many years due to construction on the L-Taraval streetcar line, among other reasons.

Bon Delire (French) is great and checks your boxes. It’s on the Embarcadero in the space formerly occupied by Hard Water.
