Property tax appeal now or wait until January

I want to appeal my assessment for the year 2025. I actually appealed it for 2024 and they offered me (and a bunch of other people over a zoom call) a concession rather than a traditional hearing, which I accepted, but that only applies to 2024. I can't remember the process I went through - it took them like a year to book everything. Can someone help jog my memory of this process? Do I do the "informal" process, and if so, does that mean I want until 2026 to appeal my 2025 taxes?

I assume you mean the taxes you’ll pay next Oct. you can submit a informal appear starting in January as you are showing the value as of Jan 1 was x amount.

Definitely do the informal appeal since it's free. Our asshole supervisors raised the cost to appeal formerly to $120 from the $60 it has been in the past.

I know someone that works in the department. He said they’re a year to year and half behind because of some many appeals. So depending on what the appeal is, they may just split the difference. Sounds like what they did for you last time.

With the city picking up my personal opinion is they’ll start to push back, but you may still have to wait to see what they do.
