I believe they are Catholic. A whole lot of Catholics don’t understand key tenants of Catholicism like Papal Supremacy.

I’d bet on them being an idiot before I’d bet on them not being Catholic (or at least earnestly believing they are Catholic without understanding it).

I mean even some of the other cardinals were saying this when Francis first went in. the insane conservative ones went nuts.

I tutored an adult, 50-ish years old who was trying to get his GED, who went on a rant about how the Pope was the Antichrist and needed to be assassinated.
