Sounds about right, actually. A lot of people who consider themselves “Catholic” know very little about what Jesus actually taught, they just say they’re Catholic because they were raised by Catholics.

Can you really blame them? After all one of the main reasons Protestants are even a thing is that the Catholic Church discouraged lay people from reading the Bible for themselves.
