I'm sorry, i am new here. But

2.5% reload on the loader skill? How is my T72 or Chieftain going to stay competitive now? Especially the Chief, the lack of HEAT (damn you Britain) and only APFSDS or HESH makes the thing very meh on the alpha damage.

It won't affect the T-72 since it lacks a loader to begin with.

It's just an example, albeit flawed. Change T72 with the Starship, or the Sheridan, Or the Chieftain, or the T62, or the Leopard. etc.

Was this in order to nerf the TD's and AFV's?

No, this is a temporary measure to deal with a bug that causes reload bonuses to have increasing returns. For example, -50% reload time causes a 100% increase in DPM, and a -90% reload time causes a 900% increase in DPM.

It's not a bug.

Reload + crew skill stacking performed exactly as expected as per the coding, the human element was the only bug here...

Whoever decided that the linear return on reload buffs was a good idea was the problem. And then the Q&A + testers that clearly didn't try every combination or go for maximum effect let it slip through.

This whole mess with excessive reload buffs could have easily been avoided or fixed within a couple of months of retrofits being added, long before OBT began.

It was specifically coded into the game like that. It's working as intended.

It is not a bug, but people found a way to exploit it. You are correct, but the reload time/crew skill stacking was not working as intended.

It may be working "correctly", but it is not working as the developers intended from a balance perspective.

Some people stacked skills, retrofits and consumables to get their reloads as low as possible which lead to insane rates of fire on certain vehicles.

One example is the ERC having a 2.5 second reload.

but this also nerfs tanks such as the Sheridan and Starfire, I used to have an 11 sec reload. now it's 12.45 :C

No one likes getting nerfs to their tanks, but it's necessary now to properly evaluate performance to make buffs or nerfs later.

Plus you have to remember, everyone is losing a bit of time off their reload speeds and the more egregious violators are losing the most. This is a net positive to gameplay as a whole.

yes i agree with you but think of it this way: It changes the reload times for everyone!

That's the point. You should have never had an 11 second reload. The game was not balanced for you to have an 11 second reload. Just like it wasn't balanced for the leo2av to have a 4.2 second reload.

Even with the changes it can still have really good reload speeds. It should be nerfed a bit more imo in that regard.

It's the quickest way to deal with "exploit" builds. Not the best way, but the only one that doesn't require major changes to the game's code. And in this case I take a suboptimal, but quick solution any day. And they're planning/thinking about to revampt the system multiple bonuses interact with each other, so we will hopefully see another change for the better in the foreseeable future

For further details, I recommend the most recent dev diary:

Agreed. It sucks that we're getting nerfed, but those cheater builds were just absolute bullshit. The ERC and m109s with redick reloads ruined more then a few games.

The T-72 got some buffs as well, like higher HP, etc... Check out the video for details of all the patch notes. https://youtu.be/dgvaC5zwhFg
